Help Nexus 5 not turning on, boot loop when plugged in

Hello,

I've been having trouble with my Nexus 5. This is the second phone that has shut off on me and gotten stuck in a boot loop. I'm getting it replaced again, however I'm worried it might happen again with the new one, since it already happened twice.

Since I am getting it replaced, could someone tell me what it could be doing this? As well as ways to try to prevent it? I just got this replacement 2 months ago, and am still paying for the phone

I've already tried pressing the power button and the volume down key, as well as power and volume up, and all three together and individually, but none work. Also, it only loops when it's plugged in, and it does it from the moment it's plugged in, to the moment it is unplugged. When it's not plugged in, it won't do anything.

I really appreciate anyone who helps me, and if you need any other information I'll try to get it.

Are you using the charger that came with the N5.
The reason I am asking is some of the after market chargers will destroy your cell phone.

There are a variety of things that could cause this. I have experienced this myself. I am in the process of sending my 2nd Nexus 5 back to Google due to random reboot issues. The phone is completely stock and is randomly rebooting. I tried multiple factory resets,clearing cache, booting into safe mode and installing apps 1 by 1 to see if one could be causing the issue.

As none of the above things worked or corrected the problem, I began to search the forums and a lot of Nexus 5 users are having the same issue. Some have narrowed it down to a faulty power button switch. I am NOT saying this could be your issue, but if you tried everything I mentioned above as I have, there's not much else it could be. It's frustrating, but Google is good about replacing the phone.

I have been using the charger that came with the phone, I haven't used any other charger with the phone.

Hi. I have the same problem and I think it is the power button problem. but still i dont know :/

It is a known fact that the power button on the N5 can become faulty. The button can/will get stuck in and or make contact with the internal connector which in turn can cause a boot loop issue.
Sometimes giving the device a good smack on the back cover near the camera may nock the power button loose and stop the device from a continuous boot loop and allow it to power up. This was the cause and issue of a friend of mines and he was able to receive/recover his data by using this trick and return his device back to a stock setting before returning the device.

None the less if you are under warranty and can get a replacement then by all means do so. But as I mentioned above you maybe able to get the device to boot and at least recover some of your personal data from the device before sending it off for warranty.

Same issue I had another issue reset my phone and it just kept rebooting so I reset again fixed till I turned it off and then started rebooting I had to reset yet again and now no issues! We will see how long this holds out
