Root Some Rooting Questions from someone who has no idea what they are doing | Please help

I've been wanting to root my Kyocera Hydro Vibe because of the limited built-in storage space. It runs on Kit Kat so in order to move apps entirely over to the SD card I have to root it. Most of the tutorials out there to root this phone use Kingroot, however, after researching that application, it seems that it has some spyware in it. There are some other applications that may work, notably, Root Genius and OneClickRoot, but I have no idea if these are safe either. Is there any brute force way of rooting this phone without using a software that does it for you or can anyone confirm if any of these applications I mentioned are safe?

Be aware that you won't be able to move your apps entirely over to the SD card. I think you'll be disappointed at just how much internal memory those apps still consume, even after they are moved to the SD card.
I can already move them a little bit, but not significantly. There are some apps out there that are supposed to help with this. Either way, I'd like to root my phone. :/

I'm gonna be str8 with you as I've Rooted kyoceras before. DON'T DO IT!! I say that because their bootloaders are locked, can't get or build a recovery for them. And once ya accidentally erase an app : YOU'RE SCREWED CU's they don't have ANY failsafe like Samsung, LG, Motorola to flash factory FW. I agree with @LV426, you'll be disappointed by trying to move them.. Plus with the Android OS's being so newer, most the play store apps will break after updates.. Your best option is truly to get a newer phone (even tho it may suck, financially)

Use Magisk root

You need TWRP recovery to use Magisk, and kyoceras don't have TWRPs.. There's only one Rooting option I know of that MAY work on that device and I'm just not recommending it at this time
