Hi there,
I have an Sonim XP7 Android based cell phone and as my contract with my mobile provider was ended I decided to cancel the services with them and take an mobile hotspot to use my SIM less mobile phone using VoIP and WiFi from the LTE hotspot. We have a phone system running FreePBX, so I order an phone number from our telephony trunks provider, link it to the extension of my XP7 and set the SIP client on the Android phone for it can use a phone extension. But since I take off the SIM card from it, incoming calls has stopped to get in but I can make outgoing calls without any issues.
Whenever if I dial the four digit extension or even if I dial the ten digit phone number, I fall on the voicemail of the extension that my Sonim is logged to.
Is my Android phone really need an SIM card to be used as a VoIP (SIP) phone even if the SIM card is not be used at all as the communications was done by using the IEEE 802.11x ?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Guillaume
