My phone is a LG K20V and I used to be able to transfer my photos from my phone to my computer. It doesn't work anymore. I can transfer files but not photos. When I attempt to transfer files, I get a message on my computer that there are no files. I connect my phone to the computer with a USB cable. I tried it on my Windows 10 laptop and it works, but not on my Mac Mini. What bothers me is that it used to work and I haven't changed anything on my phone or my Mac computer.

Thanks,
Helen

I tried transferring photos again on my laptop running Windows 10 and now it doesn't work. Now my Mac Mini and my laptop running Windows 10 can't transfer photos. I get a message saying "Can't find device" on my laptop and "No Photos" on my Mac. I've tried 2 different USB cables with the same results. Transferring files does work. I need thee photos because I'm printing them for Christmas. Why was it working and now it isn't.Could there be a problem with my phone? I am extremely frustrated.

I know I'm being a pest, but I need to get this working.I don't know if this means anything, but when I go into my settings; Bluetooth, K20 V is listed as "Visible while on this screen". I've never seen this before. When I hit "Search", it comes up with a few devices: Helen's Mac mini; OfficeJet 500 series; DTVBluetooth;. I don't know what this means, but my phone was never listed in the Bluetooth settings. Could this be a problem?

I'm sorry for being such a pest.

Do you use Google photos on your phone?

No I don't, but I just went into Google photos and there was one album there. I tried emailing it to me and only 1 photo showed up, not the album. I don't have a data plan on my phone. Will emailing use data because I can't afford it. I would rather do the transfer photos. It's a lot faster. I just don't know why it doesn't work anymore.

My phone is different. This is what I have. I hope you can see it OK. I just can't understand why this is happening. My phone has been transferring photos with no problems since I've had it. Nothing has changed. This also doesn't work with my Windows 10 laptop. Can this be a bluetooth issue? I noticed in my Bluetooth settings that my phone is listed "K20 V - Visible while on this screen". What does this mean? I've never seen this.

Wifi is considerably faster at file transfer than Bluetooth. If you've got a lot of pictures, it could take you hours to transfer them. As for Airdroid, there will always be bad reviews whenever things get changed. That seems to be what most of the one and two stars are complaining about. Give it a try, if you don't like it, uninstall it and no harm done.

I looked up that app and it had terrible reviews. ....
Perhaps you were looking at a different app? Out of over 550,000 downloads the AirDroid app from Sand Studio is getting a 4.25 star out of 5 rating. I've been using it for years now on an almost daily basis, it's a great way to easily transfer files between my phones and a computer -- works with any browser on a computer running Linux, Mac, Windows, etc., and best part since no USB cable is required there is nothing to do on the target computer so no need to mess with PTP/MTP/mass storage settings that different operating systems might require, nor have to install any software or drivers for those operating systems that need them. Granted using AirDroid's web-based service has limitations (unless you're willing to pay the monthly subscription fee) but the free version works fine using just your home's local network.

I called Verizon and was told to download an app: Android File Transfer for Mac. It works! I don't know about my Laptop running Windows 10.I don't know if there is an app for Windows.

Not sure if you tried already; but another option you may hzve is using a different USB cable. I don't know how many times I have been frustrated by devices not being seen or files not transferring due to a bad cable.

Cable might be okay for charging but poor for data transfer. Just another thing for you to look at later when you have time.

Best of luck,
