What's the weather like where you are?

It's a cool [for us] week, with highs in the 60s. My fellow Southern California natives are pissing and moaning about how cold it is...so I remind them that I lived in Dallas, with its single-digit temps and its still-standing record low -1 degree so, yeah, THIS is not cold.

The great news, for several reasons, is that it's snowing like crazy up in the mountains. My grandsons, 8 and 10, who live out-of-state, are SUPER EXCITED about their upcoming visit, which will include a couple of days up at Big Bear, where they'll be taking snowboarding lessons. I'm excited for them!

So I am currently in Kansas (USA). Last night I started driving and it was raining pretty hard, then it let up;)and then started back upo_O. So I drove for about two hours dealing with on and rain.
And then I hit clear weather:thumbsupdroid:. It was beautiful, clear skies, dry roads, it was simply awesome:blushDroid:
So I drove several miles, if all went right I could be at my delivery destination around 9 or 10am. Then the rain started up:maddroid: again. Lightly at first, then it started coming down. Come down it did for a good twenty minutes and then it clear up, back to perfect driving conditions. So I am crusing along for about thirty minutes and next thing I see these tiny ping pong balls bounce off the hood of my truck:thumbsdowndroid:.
At first it was like someone was tossing these things at me and then the sky's let loose, Hail .fortunately it only lasted for about five minutes
Then the weather clears up:) back to great driving. But as I continue down the road, off in the distance I can see snow coming down o_O . Okay no problem go slow and easy everything will be okay. I enter the snow storm with some light winds.
As I am driving an emergency weather alert comes across the radio. Expect blizzard conditions in the following areas, it also informed me that travel conditions where I am at are going to get bad:( . No sooner does the alert ends and my truck and trailer get slammed by a gust of wind. It started pushing me into another lane, I let off the gas slow down, quickly straighten up. The highway speed limit is 75mph with the minimum being 40 mph. Pretty soon I am doing 35, then 30 and finally 25mph. My trailer is swaying side to side. Visibility has been touch and go and till finally I can't see a darn thing.
That's it, time to shut this show down. It took me another hour of creeping along before I could locate a safe spot to pull over.

Sounds like quite the adventure. I don't miss that kind of weather at all. Stay safe!

My out-of-state family's here, arrived on the 28th. Naturally, since it was in the 70s and 80s but a few days ago, now that they--and millions of people from around the world, for the Rose Parade--are here, it's been a brisk 60-ish with high winds. Oh well, whatever. The grandkids are going to have a blast snowboarding up at Big Bear, where it's much colder than down here.

Besides, I can always pull out photos of the 10-year-old when he was a toddler, playing NAKED with the hose in my backyard one January when it was 105 degrees. But I don't want him to die of embarrassment! I don't know if he knows Grandma used to bathe him, change his diapers, etc.
