Goverment shutdowns in the US

How many times has the us government shut down? :thumbsdowndroid:

four, five a dozen??? What happened when they did???
Life continue, people carried on :blushDroid:

, I think people adjust. Now people really want to see a huge impact on American, European, asian, societies, etc shut down the trucking industry for 30 days. Absolutely no freight moved for 30 days, I mean zip. That is something that would effect people not some stupid politicians brickering

Truth.. truck drivers keep the world running. I'm from a truck driving family (the only one who doesn't/can't drive one) and what you said is dead on the nail, everything would come to a screeching halt. The stores would look like Venezuela's.. empty and full of ppl trying to best or hurt each other over a loaf of bread.

same thing can be said about WARs.
life continue, people carried on.. adjust.

it does affect people.. some more than others...
it does NOT affect me directly... but i can feel empathize their pain.
it sucks!

GOV shutdown.. happens. it will blow over.. and we will get over it.
but it is not a good thing.
and by Saturday.. it will be the longest usa gov shutdown in history.

a wall works for the general needs. and where they are most useful.. we already have them. they are there!!! and only need normal maintenance and upkeep.

to keep out criminals... and drugs .. and desperate people..
not so much.. just an annoying hurdle for these people..

for a fake crisis ..
bigger and and longer walls...over 25 billion to build (maybe even more).
and ongoing much higher cost of upkeep...every damn year...
it is like spending lots of money for a top performance engine (1000 hp)...
to use in a skateboard race... sure you win.. but nobody give you credit for the win.
south boarder last year .. only had less than 10 people stopped for criminal history.
(i think they said 6).

Yeh, walls might only delay and make things harder, but they don't stop.

Maybe Trump should look at the DMZ in Korea and try doing something similar. That's pretty effective border security.

Only if you are actually still at war can lethal force be used. North and South Korea are still at war. The Mexican-American War has been over by treaty for over a century. America got California and a lot more. Mexico just got smaller.

OT: I think they're still pissed about that.

Can you think of any other border security that's as effective as the DMZ @mikedt?

but with Cohen.. and Buzzfeed findings..

45 directed Cohen to lie to congress.. = obstruction of justice

this will drive the troll crazy.. he will do anything to redirect public talk away.
he will do something nutz about this shutdown to make it huge.
