Dog Days/Afternoons...

If I did this every time my wife said "five minutes" I'd need neck surgery...

If I could manage to get either of the dogs to do it, though...it would be a miracle. It wouldn't help my wife be ready "on time," of course, but she might appreciate the effort. Or not. ;)

The wife saying she'll be ready in 5 minutes is equivalent to you saying you'll be home in 5 minutes when she calls you at the bar. ;)

I just... gave up. I made a life (a career, even) of being early, let alone on-time, and it all went out the window when I acquired a wife and children.
Had a wife for a long time, and yet funny thing about being 40, you just do not regeret the biggest mistake, even though we did love them to bits. Still I too made a carrer out of nothingness.

{Scene setting: It's POURING outside, with 25mph+ gusts}

Me: Molly, it's really raining hard. Are you sure you want to go for your walk? It's a night not fit for man nor beast.

Molly {a la Phil Connors in a blizzard}: What rain? It's a couple of drops!

The pic is her after being dried off twice and eating, roughly a half hour after the walk...oh, and she hates water, but this is how much she LOVES her walks...and love always trumps hate.

Molly is a sweetheart.

She is indeed, thanks. She is sometimes crazy (when anyone comes home and particularly when it's coming close to walk time or you change pants), absolutely insane when she sees a cat, squirrel or other critter, and very affectionate and adorably sweet most of the rest of the time. Well, if you're eating she is a pest because mom feeds her from the table and gives her table scraps. She's almost 11 (hence the white mask) and still acts like a 2-3 year old. I've known her about half her life and I know I'm going to miss her terribly when she's gone. So I try to give her (and her 'brother' Liam) as much love as I can while they're still here. Poor Liam has multiple lipomas and a benign mass in his left hip muscle that affects his mobility and has to cause him some pain, but he's such a sweet boy and plays it off.

Just FYI, when our rescue had to cope with cancer, we discovered that CBD pills (especially formulated for veterinarian use) really reduced pain and increased mobility. Even from arthritis and disc issues. It wasn't a cure but bought some good quality time.

The 'sugar' face told me she was old. :)

You will. :(

That's the way! And cherish each moment. And take lots of photos/videos!

Aw, poor Liam. But he sounds like a trooper!
