My phone is stock on 2G network

Sideloading the Play APK won't work. But might be there in AppGallery by searching "Google Play" in English.

This is Play in AppGallery on my Huawei. Which does work no problem. But note the update is not recommended, because this is not official and nor is it Google approved.

It's similar with China variant Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi phones as well, there's unofficial Play Store.

Yup, 4G is China only with this particular phone. It's really just the baseband firmware that's restricting it. Some China variant Huaweis can be flashed with international firmware, like Mate 9, but I don't think there's anything for Honor 4A

Yeh TD-SCDMA is for China Mobile only. To fix you basically need to flash the firmware to the correct international version, which changes the baseband. I know it can be done with some Huaweis and Oppos, like Mate 9 and Find 7. Coolpad phones, very likely not.

For information, China has three carriers; China Mobile which operates GSM, and TD-SCDMA, China Telecom which operates CDMA/EVDO, and China Unicom which operates GSM and WCDMA. And there's a lot of phones around that are either China Mobile TD-SCDMA only, or China Telecom CDMA/EVDO only. There's also 4G TD-LTE, which is a mode that's only used in China.
