Cold. Just cold. We had floating ice crystals...not snow or flurries, actual ice crystals that formed due to humidity levels and air temps. Weird. And cold.

Alright, hold on everybody: IT'S RAINING! I mean here, in the San Gabriel Valley, in Arcadia, at my house. My driveway has WATER on it.
My cousin called last night; she's in the other valley (the one known for Valley Girls) and asked how I liked all the rain we'd been getting, and I said, WTF?! She'd had rain for days; I'd had none. Until now!
We are scheduled for rain all week over here in the valley of the deer... same in San Joachin.

No rain here... just dense fog two days running. Yesterday AM the fog froze on the roads making the morning commute a challenge. With the temps above freezing today it was just gloomy all day. Gloomy is better than slick but I sure would like to see the sun again.

"They" (local) are saying we are getting a "heavy snow event" and the NWS thinks 9" is a good starting point. That's for Saturday night/Sunday. We are having a practice snow of about an inch tonight. Oh yeah, it's going to be ridiculously cold too.

Not as cold as it has been but that was maybe because I upped my cold weather wardrobe. Irish wool sweater and a North Face 600 Parka. The parka is bulky but warm as toast.

Uh. One of the local guys just tweeted 16-24" and NWS's map is now showing 18" for me. Ummm, no! It's going to be a yucky weekend!!

Okay...the world is returning to normal!
It's a typical sunny SoCal day, the rain is gone, temps will be near 80 by Sunday.
We have 4+ feet of recent snow in the local mountains, and 17-foot waves at the beach. So you can snowboard/ski in the morning and surf that afternoon.
Yep, back to normal.

There's right around a foot of snow out there so far, and it's going to be snowing for a while still. Then the wind kicks in and the temperature drops like a rock.
