Help chrome mic not responding

Chromebook Acer 15
I used to click on the Chrome mic and speak = then Chrome would respond as though I typed something. Now the mic does not respond.
I have reset it, checked all accessibility, and checked all settings.
I think this happened before and it was corrected. OK Google is not involved: just a click on the mic used to work.
Is there something I can do besides power wash?

No, it's in your phone settings, go to apps > chrome > clear storage > clear all data.

PLEASE NOTE: this will delete all your browsing history and all chrome saved settings, unless you were signed into your Google account within chrome, in that case, after clearing all data, you will just log in and it will all come back.

I think i might have misunderstood your question. If you're asking about the mic within chrome app that you can speak and it types for you, then you can try my suggestion above. If you mean something else, i guess I'm not sure.
