dual sim in Canada

I'm contemplating a Note 9 for use in Canada.

I have currently both a work and private phone and am contemplating to get a dual sim Note9 to avoid using two phones any longer. Is there any down side to that? I read about the lack of Direct Wifi calling.
I use a voip provider for most of my calls, can I not do that on a dual sim phone?

I know of to ability of multiple profiles, though have never tried it on my phone.
Anyone using it a lot?
With dual sims would you assign each sim to a profile?

Dual-SIM Note 9s are usually distributed in Asia and Europe, rather than North America AFAIK. So you'll be grey importing it into Canada? You better check it's compatible with your particular Canadian carrier, like if they'll activate BYOD. It's very unlikely to support direct WiFi calling with your carrier, however VOIP calling with WhatsApp etc, should be OK.
