TV programs - What grinds your gears?

Alright, sometimes when taping a show, it cuts off and gives me around 3 minutes per 30 minute show, I am not so sure on how it works - probably satalite images et all. Somehow when sleeping or even watching another program, duration of tape, it cuts off that episode. Like once a while, probably it is the provider's proof though. But seeing how we switch cable companies every once a while, they could of fix it right on it. When sometimes recording, like i mentioned it either just cuts itself like that.
Gives the episode like around 1% recording.. Odd how salesman can never think of just the citations, and never think of normal persons. somehow it really gets annoying having pressing fast forward throughout the commericals. and has like the ending line at near beginning.
I've had the same satellite service, DirecTV, for 25 years, and never see the problem you're describing. I haven't seen that since I was recording on VHS tapes!

Even with live events, like sports or awards shows, when I choose to record them a message comes up saying that live events may run over their scheduled time, and do I want to add extra time.

Also, I can set my default recording behavior to start and/or end so many minutes before/after the scheduled time.

I don't know who your provider is, but I'd suggest spending some time looking through your settings for features like I've described.

Dish network and yeah I did search automatically and, somehow it erases some programs that I have taped, I get so frustrated, I rarely do apps these days, but when sh^^t hits the fan, have to do apps. That is where my anger does come from, even though I may seem alright of everything.

I can't speak for Dish, but DirecTV lets me set default behavior, such as 'keep until I delete it' or 'delete when the disk is full,' and I can change those on a case-by-case basis as well. NOTHING gets deleted automatically--because that's how I've set my preferences.

Same here. nothing does get deleted automatically no matter what.

*thoroughly confused*
Sometimes I fast forward throughout entire episodes on accident, when seeing a first commerical break.
So human error over here, even tapping my fast forward button, same effects and it can automatically stop the show altogether. That is why I have stopped watching and recording it, at the same time.

Sorry fingers are tired, see you folks.

Don't worry @mikedt , it's only @Milo Willamson he is very old and struggles with new technologies. I think he is still bitter that Betamax lost the tech wars back in the day..:oops:

anything that's reality tv shows. they are now all the same crappy formula. Most of the housewives and such are just rich spoiled brats. i remember jersey shore? yuk such crap!!!!!!!!
While I wouldn't be caught dead watching the shows you mentioned, or anything similar--like the Kardashian garbage--I don't think ALL reality shows are bad.

I love Dr Pimple Popper, My 600lb Life, The Toe Bro, Naked and Afraid and a few others.
