Hi i have a OnePlus 3T with Android 7.1.1. the phone is not getting recognised on the laptop running windows 10. When I tried to update MTP driver it says service installation in this INF is invalid. OnePlus support is pathetic. Each support consultant has his own opinion.

The support guys on 28.11. said they will do remote on 29.11. then due to some communication issue they postponed it to 30.11. now they said that is also not possible and now I have to send it for repair. This phone has been more with them than with me.

Go to settings / about phone / press build number 5-6 time (don't remember exactly how many times) to enable developer options
turn on USB debugging
select USB configuration MTP (media transfer protocol)

plug it in
Install drivers

And now on you should have it working every time you plug it to your laptop.

Hope this helps :)

Win10:
You have to 1st go into UEFI and disable driver signature verification and reinstall device drivers, then try again

Install the USB driver which is available to install from connecting the phone. But before that ensure you have the developer option enabled in your Oneplus 3t phone.

Enable USB debugging 1st than
find Select USB configuration and choose PTP (Picture Transfer Protocoal) to access the storage device or any other option to access the mobile stoage.

I hope this helps.
