Just called BB by me. Rep said they'll call the day before and set me up with an appointment. I cant believe all BB preorders get a free Plantronics Bluetooth. I was like "say that again". She said its free with preorder. She didnt know what model but who cares its free !!!! Glad i didnt go the Shack

EDIT: Its a Plantronics 230 ($40 value)

Not the best bluetooth but it is free. I may sell it for a Jawbone or something else.

I haven't heard anything either, and I was JUST in BB to make my appt. I grabbed the 3rd appt on the 4th, didn't want to be the 1st (guinea pig factor) and spaced out the 2nd, but oh well. Anyway I didn't see or hear anything about a free bluetooth? Is this just your local BB or all of them? Can anyone confirm details about this. Thank you in advance =)

alittle more insite on the bluetooth

"Hi, I'm a Best Buy Mobile Manager and I we just got info around what we are doing to match the Radio Shack $20 offer. We will NOT match that offer as a company. Instead we've decided to trump their offer. We will be giving away a Plantronics 230 ($40 value) with any HTC Evo 4G activation. We will receive extra stock in order to be able to fulfill customer demand.
This is not something that some random poster is making up. You will see this offer being called out on TV ads during the first month of launch."

I'm going to be leaving soon to run some errands and to take some pictures and video with the EVO. There are a lot of setting for both the camera and the camcorder, so I imagine it will take some getting used to, to produce the best quality. I'll be experimenting with that today.

hey bill...welcome back. quick question, did u start another forum and if you did, where can i find it.

BTW radio shack is selling the evo full price for $500, I sold my hero on craigslist so im buying my EVO for full price, and radio shack said pre ordering it at full price is discretionary, he said he would do it for me, but he had to call and confirm the full price of the phone, and he said its $50 more since essentially without a contract they aren't getting anything from selling it for $450. Sprint it is I guess....can anyone else confirm that Best Buy will preorder for $450? without an upgrade.

Has anyone heard any news about this extended battery case we saw a while back? It's the one EVO accessory that I'm really looking forward to!

I just thought of something and I don't know if anyone else has thought of it.

If you buy the phone unlocked, do you have to pay 10$ a month for service still? Or is that fee waved because you didn't sign a contract for the phone?

EDIT: Still want to know, but I did the math and it's obvious sprint made the unlocked price at 450$ because in 2 years it's 10$ more than on a 2 year contract with 10$ a month charge. So there isn't really a benefit to getting the phone unlocked.

much appreciation for your reply....i'm glad you said it looks good on 3g, bcuz your comment is the first positive one about sprint tv on the evo...all the others i've seen have complained about lag and grainy frames....i use it alot and was hoping it would be a dramatic improvement over all the other phones i've used it on

Don't get me wrong, there is some graininess, since it is on 3g, but I think it's an very good improvement over my Moment. The processor makes a difference.

I haven't seen any accessories like that available yet either. I'm also looking to see if the dock is available. Please post if you end up finding this charger/case. Thanks.

I think you are either confused or the terminology is confusing you. If you use an Evo it is 10.00 per month extra per line that has an evo on your plan. that is a premium data charge, not an unlock fee. the 450.00 fee for the phone is the cost of the phone with out a new contract or upgrade.

I'm going to ask here since it's a rumor.

To the people who claimed to get a credit for the premium fee, what did you tel the customer service rep?

Here's my story of getting credits from Sprint. First of all I had an old "grandfathered Plan" of 800 minute "Fair and Flexible" $69 Family Plan with 4 lines. I had to upgrade to a $129 Family Plan to get my EVO. I talked to "Accounts Services" which is what they are now calling the "Customer Retention" dept. On three occassions I asked for the old $70 "Customer Loyalty" credit and three times I was told it no longer existed. In two of the three times I actually asked to talk to a manager within "Accounts Services" and each time they said that the only credits they were allowed to give were a $10 per month credit for the primary line and up to a $5 per month credit for each of the additional lines on the account. Since the first "add a line" is free they can not credit you $5 on it. So in my case I received a $10 per month (24 months) for the primary line (which is getting the EVO) and two $5 credits per month (24 months) for lines 3 and 4. At no time was the $10 credit on the primary line discussed because of getting the EVO. From the discussions, I got the impression that anyone threating to leave and/or willing to renew their Plan Contract for two years would get the credit(s). Having nothing to do with the 4G premium charge when getting a EVO.

So that's my experience. I don't understand how anyone got the $70 Loyalty credit that earlier posters have claimed. At the end, I had talked to Telesales once, Customer Service twice and Customer Retention/Account Services three times.

Hopefully that helps you.

Welcome back - glad you were able to make amends. It is after all, just a phone.

But the best phone out there I might add. :D

Yeah you can tell bill is back, who else has such a unique nack of making so many back to back posts, thus keeping me busy fixing them up. ;)

Anyway, welcome back Bill.

I know that they will give you a credit if your in the 30 period and want to cancel the contract.
I was very nice and explained that I was buying the phone as a present on a line thay's been eligible for about 3 months but was concerned about the "4G fee" I saw in the reviews.
No go. I was told they're not allowed to give any credits for the fee. As a side note: They did not correct me when I called it a 4G fee either.
I asked if they could give me a good customer discount of any kind, on with an elevation manager at this point, again I was told under no circumstances.

the manager even made a note that I was interested in cancelling the line.

I jus commented on how I downloaded the pink one to my desktop and am saving it for when I get the EVO. It's the .apk so that is what I need to look for in ANdroid correct? I saw where the one post took me to a cab file and I knew coming from the TP2 that wasn't right. I keep saying this over and over but I can't wait to get this phone.

This is a .cab file, and android does not support this. Android uses .apk.

Here is swype for you in 4 different flavors including pink for the ladies at ppcgeeks.PPCGeeks - View Single Post - Evo Swype?;)

Edit: SHO_ONE must have beat me by seconds.:)
