Looking to replace Maildroid Pro

I just checked the Play Store listing for Maildroid Pro and the description includes the following message:
NOTE: WE ARE AWARE OF A LICENSING ISSUE DUE TO THE NEW GOOGLE PLAY VERSION JUST RELEASED A FEW DAYS AGO. WE ARE WORKING ON A SOLUTION!
If this is the blacklisting you mention it may be that there will be a fix in the near future.

There's also a reply from the dev to a review comment from yesterday in the free version of the app that looks like it might be relevant (talks about having submitted the relevant form to Google).

I'm afraid I don't have an answer to the specific question. I'm currently using Nine, but cannot see that option anywhere.

Thanks for the update. The developer stopped answering support emails and had said he was "interested in other things". I guess he had a change of heart. I'm thrilled. I couldn't find an email app that had all the functioning of Maildroid.
BTW: How do you get around to all the forums? We've "talked" on the HTC 10 forum and others. I, for one, am glad you're so dedicated.

I am still here, just super busy these days. It is not "blacklisted", rather they wanted people using oAuth2 for Gmail to change some compliance things...which we did and we are in review. We should be OK and there should not be any issues (as far as I know).
Like I said in my email to you, I'm thrilled that you're updating Maildroid. Google sent me an email saying Maildroid would no longer work with Gmail accounts because of their new rules. I've been using Maildroid for years and I know it's the best email app around. I dreaded trying to use a different email app. I'm glad I posted here because that's how I found out you were updating Maildroid. It isn't obvious in Google Play. If you have time, maybe put the information in the update area so everyone knows. :)

As soon as it's updated, give it a try again. You can start with the free version to make sure you like it. It really is a great app.

I've got the paid version and used it for years. I can't remember why I stopped using it (maybe laziness).

But, I'll definitely use it again. It was good to see the dev post here. I got the free version way back in the day of my HTC EVO 4G, when I joined this forum

Leaving aside any speculation about how one might incentivise bloggers to write reviews, there's a tendency for these reviews to prioritise prettiness and often to regard "cloud features" as a positive rather than a concern. MailDroid doesn't look as pretty and your typical tech blog reviewer isn't going to spend the time to understand the uses of the many features and what it can do that others can't (I'd forgotten about personalised notifications myself, perhaps because I never used them).

Glad I found this thread.

I've generally relied on native email apps for my Spectrum/TWC account, and was a bit lost when I realized that the LG V40 didn't have one. I had about given up finding one, that I liked, and would properly synch with the RoadRunner site. Maildroid looks like a keeper; already uninstalled 2 different email apps that I had been testing.

If you have any questions with Maildroid, just ask. I've used it since about 2012 and I don't mind.

Thanks, markdoc, I believe I've got it.
Last several I've tried had failed to delete messages from the server. Haven't had any issues with Maildroid, yet.
I haven't run into any major issues either. There are a couple of minor glitches, but nothing that would make me drop it.

I'm a little concerned about the deadline that Google stated in the email they sent me. It stated,
"Although you don’t need to take any action, we wanted to let you know that the following third-party apps will no longer be able to access some data in your Google Account, including your Gmail content. This change will go into effect starting March 31, 2019.
HP ePrint
Flipdog Solutions"

That's tomorrow. Maybe Google will delay the deadline since the developer said, "...we are in review." Also, Google accepted my application to be a beta tester for Maildroid Pro 2 days ago. I'm hoping that's a good sign.

Hi maildroiddev,

I know this is off topic from the thread, but I've been having difficulty getting a response, so I'm trying this here. About 3 weeks ago, I sent an email about how I can't use the maildroid app to send emails. I sent a follow-up last week. Here is the full body of the email.

"Hello,

For the past couple of weeks, I've been getting an error every time I try to send an email using the maildroid app. I use the app for my aol account. My last successful sent email was 3/21. The first time I started seeing errors was on 3/26.

Last night, I successfully sent an email from my aol account using my computer, but this morning, I tried again to send an email using maildroid and it still failed. So I know it's a problem with the app.

I generated a bug report. I of course couldn't send it using maildroid. But fortunately, I was able to save it and attach it to this email, using my other, gmail account (and through the gmail app).

According to the maildroid app, my current version is 4.91.

Throughout all of this, I'm still able to receive emails, search my folders, etc. Only thing that seems to not work is sending emails.

Please look into this, and let me know if you can resolve the problem.

Thanks."

The auto-reply says to check your online forum, but I get an error whenever I click on it.

I love the app, and I hope to keep using it. I know you're busy, but it's been a long time already for me not to be able to send emails using the app. Please let me know if you can help.
