Error when installing third party apps on Samsung Galaxy S7

Hi,

I am using a couple of apps that I have to install from an apk I download. The apps are totally safe and I've used them for a long time. The other day my S7 on T-Mobilr got updated to Android 9. After that I am not able to install/update those apps. I get an error saying

'Unable to view properties for this app'

I have not changed any settings and unknown sources is enabled as it was before. What is causing this and what can I do to get these apps installed? I use them for work so this is a big problem for me.

The S7 has been updated to Pie now? The error sounds like these apks might be incompatible with the new Android version. And the developer needs to update them. You use them for your job? If they're supplied by your employer and you've BYOD, then that's upto them to fix and update their apps.

I've got a UK variant S7 myself, originally bought from Vodafone. And there's no update to Pie for this one yet.

This is a T-Mo US S7. Got Pie two days ago. One app is supplied by my employer. The other is F-Droid. Both get the same error when I try to install. Is it possible that F-Droid isn't working with Pie?
Odd cause i have a s7 US Tmobile and never recieved the pie update unless yours in either a fake S7 or the update us releasing slowly because all ive been receiving is stupid Security Updates

I know F-Droid itself works with Pie no problem. But that's only a repository for downloading and installing other open source apps. And of course it's upto the individual devs to check, maintain, and update their stuff if necessary.

Pie has been out officially since last August last year , but Samsung has only just started this February, and still is for their various Galaxy devices.

I've got a Vodafone UK version, but it's unlocked and I'm in China, and it has received updates so far. I think the S7 is due for Pie, because Samsung has done two whole Android version updates for their flagship devices previously. And the S7 originally came with Nougat 7 when it was released. And mine is currently on Oreo 8.0, with February 2019 security update
