hello ... fellow dallas driving warrior
Happily FORMER Dallas driving warrior. I've been gleefully happy to be back home, where I belong, in Southern California since 2006. Haven't been run off the road a single time! :D
Dallas traffic is no joke.. and Houston is worse.
people dont pay attention to other moving objects!
they are in zombie driving mode. minds are preoccupied with other shit.
but get aggressive once someone get their attention.
Yep. I've been to Houston. *sigh*
i was in vietnam last month. they drive NUTZ..
rules are just suggestions!!!!
but they pay attention.. and give way to others ..
they dont try to make it a battle.
it is very chaotic.. but not aggressive.
Chaotic is one thing, downright mean aggressive is quite another!

Boston is both agressive and mean. Add in several one way streets that lead you away from your destination, non-synchronized traffic lights, and a bunch of cabbies and uber drivers it 0 F's to give, and it is fantastic.

I see you folks (and me) complaining about people not using their blinker, using it after initiating a change in direction, ir forgetting it on altogether. There is another class of blinker. The Boston Blinkah. It signals that the person is making that lane change or turn. PERIOD. They aren't going to look. They aren't going to yield. They are driving a POS taxi/uber/MBTA bus/airport limo/contractor van, etc. They will drive into you, over you, or through you, but they will make that turn. It is mostly found in gridlock traffic or heavy merge traffic like getting into the Ted Williams tunnel outside of Logan.

first of all I heard people in swindon smoked crack. There are 2 others I've heard of that have 7 joined circles but I thought it was a myth.

anyway - depending on the height of the curbs - and what I was driving at the time (because let's face it in a rental I'm liable to do nearly anything.) I might decided to just rollup though the middle and pick my turn. :D

No...no...cover my ee. I feel tars, my brain...I couldn't stand that song because it got played endlessly...brain, think of something else to hum now... ugh...

Sorry, babe... I feel the same way about Skynyrd, .38 Special, AC/DC, Metallica--- depending on the local radio market, the airwaves were saturated with local bands/favorites to the point where I can't listen to them anymore.

One reason (commercials are the other, main reason) I do not listen to radio anymore.

I hear you! I was living in the south when Skynyrd and Allman Brothers were getting played a lot. Ugh.

There are many bands I just can't listen to any more due to over-saturation. Pity, too, because some I really liked.

I used to listen to the radio a lot, including while driving to/from work. I almost never listen now.

I have Sirius in my car. I can't stand listening to the radio. My favorite station used to be the world famous KROQ. I haven't tuned in them for years now. I really like Sirius even with the same commercials, they are definitely not as bad as regular radio breaks are. I just tune in to another channel and go back and forth when needed.

Oh, KROQ. :D

And KLOS, when Mark and Brian ruled the airwaves.

Do you remember KLSX? Classic rock at its finest.

I also liked Mark and Brian. Never listened to Klsx.

What about http://www.kqlz.com/pirateradio1.html

..... talk about old school
I was living out-of-state and missed KQLZ completely.

KLSX was amazing. Its selection included a lot of deep cuts--obscure, little-known tracks from famous artists/albums. It was refreshing! You couldn't get sick of listening; you could have it on all day and it wasn't repetitious. *sigh*

Sirius subscriber here. I'm an oldies and classic rock sort of guy so there is a lot to listen to on XM. I stream their tunes daily at work and PC at night. Each channel becomes a bit repetitive so it takes a bit of switching about but I can't stand commercial radio anymore. Sirius is a decent alternative. Their new XTRA channels are excellent and can only be heard via streaming and / or a newer receiver. Very little to zero XM plugs and many channels no DJ.
