Root I think I'm ready to root

Tired of the mandatory updates and bloatware hogging up all my phone's HDD space. I have a big SD card, but I'm only allowed to move certain apps to it.

If I root, can I move more of my apps to the SD card? Can I safely delete some of the bloatware and such? Is there any way to just make the OS think the SD card is part of the HDD?

Yes, but it may be risky depending on the app. If the application requires special permissions or performance is a necessity, you should keep it on the internal memory. Though, there is a Magisk module IIRC that mimics/fakes the SD card as internal memory and allows you to install and write applications to it like nothing. It does run the risk of the real internal memory running out of space and you not knowing as it combines the internal and SD card space in the Storage settings area.

I have storage issues too with my On5 and it really sucks that any kind of ROM takes up 7GB out of 8GB somehow and just a few applications already runs it at 7.6GB used out of 8GB while other devices barely use if not at most 3GB out of 8GB memory.

If you're looking for storage, you'll need to remove as much caching, files, remove GApps possibly, and try moving some applications to SD card.

Please tell me if you can.
