Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

people that can't be bothered to read more than 2 lines into an email.

naw I just typed out 5 paragraphs because I felt like getting my hand exercises in. there's 25 people on the TO line and the 5 paragraphs is for everyone to see their part in a process - your specific line is in paragraph 4. I even put that in the first line of every paragraph - departments affected.

23 other people got it and are squared up, you to mooks can't be bothered. I bet even money you're the type of people that walk the hallways or grocery stores with damn ear buds in bobbing along so that you run into people.

Is part of the response e-mail I was wanting to send this morning.

I am sick of giving tenders to web developers for creating my websites for all of my different firms but the thing is I don't have any technical knowledge of coding and web development.I don't want to consider a web developer as I don't have much time and I want it done ASAP.
Can you guys suggest me some platform that can do this for me?
Sure :)

try wix.com or weebly.com they are really like drag and drop, no need for coding skills at all, i had a weebly account for a few years, I got tired of the ghost visitors though :)

calmly jots down another name for the book . . . . .

The other day I finally got a work e-mail where someone used letter/number words in it.

IE - B4 u leave.

To which point I responded back to that person's manager.

Please remind your employees that in the commercial aviation realm we all have to speak and write English language for clear and safe communications.

I got a call about 7 minutes later.

" While you didn't type out the words, I know you and I know what you were saying was English, Melonfarmer, do you type it? Obviously in a samuel jackson voice"

I was happy.

Dngrswife's truck died yesterday, just as we were getting ready to drive to the old house for more clearing/cleaning.

The battery is fine, I burned out the starter trying to get it to turn, replaced the starter the same thing-- the solenoid clunks, but nothing more.

I'm afraid that the engine has seized, even though it was a bare ten minutes from the last time it was turned off.

Until I can sell this house, I can't even afford repairs...

DO you have a long breaker bar (2 ft - 24 inch) and a socket that will fit on the crank pulley bolt. If so can you get on that bolt and turn the engine with the transmission in neutral? Or park I guess.

what's the truck?

A headache that's hung around for days...
I had one that hung around for almost eight years... then I got the divorce.

The engine is seized. The dealer will drop a refurbished engine in for $6600, and refurb tranny would cost another $3400 plus a little extra labor. That's more than I paid for the thing three years ago.

Looks like I am going truck shopping this weekend.

Bwaaaahhh! That's funny! :D

I had one that hung around for a few years, too. Then I had a middle fossa craniotomy to remove the brain tumor causing it. Problem solved! :)

Black vehicles in the desert.

Seriously, every single vehicle I am seeing within my price range and specs is freaking black. We live a desert people, with that big damn day-star shining all the time.

It isn't enough that the outside temp is well above 100, you want to drive a light-absorbing oven out here?

I took a break from this thread... but..
OCD religious guy at work. Always proselytizing, singing out loud hymns.. randomly spouting bible verses.
Really the most annoying religious person Ive worked with.... he has some issues
cut to the chase.

our group is going to take about $800 worth of scrap in. for us. not for work...
They asked him if he was in... He said "I got no problem with it dude"
seriously?
I will probably stick the money in the drawer and use it for the year, get coffee cake , donuts.... Little things I buy to use around the shop (organizers...P-touch labeler)
