Why. That makes the fingerprint project completely useless.

It's because pattern or PIN is considered more secure and reliable than fingerprints. How often are you restarting, or turning off and on your phone, which is when it's required. Same with facial or iris recognition, those can't be used after a restart either.

You can usually use the other biometric unlocks most other times though.

Am I the only one who finds this odd? :thinking:

Patterns and PINs can be guessed/hacked/broken. Fingerprints, barring some freak occurrence, stay the same and can't easily be forged.

It annoys me that after X times, I'm prompted for my PIN--yet my fingerprint definitely hasn't changed!
