Question about Parking app

I was going through my phone and discovered a running app named "Parking Assistant". I looked under my installed apps and it wasn't there. I have no idea how it started or what it does. I finally found it under System apps but I still can't figure out how it got started or what it does. I don't own a car and only use Uber or Lyft. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks, but I realize that system apps are part of Android and Android is from Google.
But what does it do ?

huh, i just looked and i do not have it on my note 8. my guess is that it is just that........if you park your car someplace, it will remember it.

I didn't know they had apps like that. Thanks. But one more question, since it doesn't have an interface, how can you use it? It's very strange.

its probably part of your gps navigation. it might have a feature like that.

I checked mine, and didn't see it.

Then I thought that I may have disabled it with Package Disabler...sure enough I had. I drive but I know where I park my car.

I can't find any reference to it anywhere either.

Thanks. That even has a description of what it does. I still don't know how you could use it, but since I don't drive, it really doesn't matter.

We all know that there are apps that are installed so that they're on the NEXT release. for what it's worth, I found this in the G8 ThinQ manual.

There are no corresponding settings on the V40. This, so far, is the only mention of the app, that I've found. Even checked the LG SmartWorld app.
Not listed.

I don't know if this is related but when utilizing Google Maps to navigate to a location, a parking feature pops up asking me if I want to activate it to save my parking location.

I think that's very relevant. That must be how its activated. Thank you very much. Either LG put it on our phones without documentation or Google did. Between you and Pitcarver, the mystery is solved.

The more information that you get the easier searching will be.
Collaboration with Google maps and LG. I never use ma phones map/GPS function, still have a stand alone GPS.
