Once again: good game, lousy permissions

I bet almost nobody on here has heard of Zoop. It's a neat little puzzle game, originally for Super Nintendo, ported to Android. I found it and was considering downloading it, but there's no way it needs Internet access or to be messing with the sd card. Is there some way to get it and shut off at least some of those permissions? Would playing offline help?

You could likely toggle the SD card permission off in your settings and use a firewall app like netguard to block internet access specific to the app itself.

There's more than one app of that name in the Play Store, so I can't be sure which one you mean. The first game of that name I looked at had network access but not SD.

But many games require internet access just because they are ad-supported, or in some cases to check the license. Doesn't have to be anything to do with the gameplay itself.

apks don't automatically go to SD (unless you've used the ADB trick to set the default install location to SD: something like "adb pm shell setInstallLocation 2", but check the exact format because they changed it at one point and I've not used it for about 7 years). And yes there are quite a lot that won't without root. It has to be supported by the developer.

I assume that's Android Debugging Bridge. I've never used that. Does it require a computer? How much does it cost?
It is Android Debug Bridge. It does require a computer: you type the command on a computer (with ADB installed), with the phone connected via USB and USB debugging enabled. It costs nothing.

Isn't there some noncomputer version of ADB? If I have 2 S5s could I somehow hook them up to each other?
I'm kind of lost right now. What is it you're wanting to accomplish?
I'm sorry for the underline but I don't know how to stop it.
