Help System warning (Check USB port. Moisture detected) after system update

I own an LG G6. I used to be very happy of it, till a recent update, on Dec. 20, 2018. The current SW version is at the end of this message.

After this update, the "LG System Server" utility frequently switches on with the following warning: "Check USB port. Moisture has been detected [...]" although the telephone has NOT been exposed to moisture. The warning can switch on anytime of the day or the night, and is really annoying. Besides, it prevents charging.

I tried the following:
- to disable the "LG System Server" utility, but I didn't manage to in an obvious way;
- to press Volume Down + Power Button, i.e. to restart the phone. The problem persists;
- to completely reset the phone. I noted that after the reset, the software version is the same as AFTER the update that is the source of the problem. And in fact, the problem persists.

Is there a way to disable the "LG System Server" utility?
In alternative, is there a way to install a software version older than the current one, that is the source of the problem?

Any other help is greatly appreciated.

PS:
Android version: 8.0.0
Kernel version: 3.18.71
Software version: V20g-EUR-XX

This is a pretty common complaint for this model.

There are a few things you can try. First clean out the USB port. A lot of times there can be pocket lint or other debris packed into the base of the port and will trigger the moisture warning. Then reboot your phone. If that doesn't work, you might try a different USB cable, it might be the cable that's the problem and not the phone at all.

If none of that works, first go to settings>system>about phone>hardware info and note the model number of your particular G6. It will be something like LG-H873 - it is the numbers you need. Now open your dialer and type in *#546368#*873# where that last three digits is your model number. This will bring up a utility screen. Choose SVC Menu and scroll down to "Moisture Detect Setting". Select disable and it should turn off the warning if it's a software glitch.

Now, there could be a possibility of this being a failed USB port which means it's got to be replaced and no amount of settings will fix it. Let's hope it's not that.

I would like to thank you for the prompt, crystal-clear and very helpful feedback. I tried the setting you mention, and quoted above. The problem persists. (I accessed that setting again, just to make sure it was in disabled mode.) So I suppose my USB port must be replaced. Fortunately, my phone is still under warranty.

Actually, I still have a question. If I understand correctly, turning off the "Moisture Detect Setting" solves the problem only if it's a software glitch. Instead, the problem will stay if it's due to a failed USB. My question: why does a failed USB port turn on the "Moisture Detect Setting" even if it is disabled in the SVC Menu?

I tried all those things mentioned above and nothing worked on my phone.
There's how I fixed this problem on my phone. When usb sign caming up in notification bar, pull it down to read notification 'moisture in usb port detected'. Then pull that note to the right half way and tap 'Settings' button.. While in LG system settings change priority for 'moisture in usb port...' from highest to lowest priority. Done.
No annoying notifications since I did it. And yes, now the phone is charging through the USB port. However I'm not sure what's going to happen if you will get real water in usb port and not system malfunction.  If you do it, you do it at your own risk. Good luck.
