I know Smart Switch will copy pretty much everything else over to your new device but apps are always a pain in the butt because I have to manually going to the Play Store and reinstall them app by app.

how do you all get your apps setup on your new devices?

smart switch was able to get most of my apps installed on my phone. the data was a different thing. i had to either log into each app or just start over.

Most of my app downloaded automatically.
The ones no longer in the play store, I installed them from apk backups I keep on my phone. Having backups of my nova setup made it easy to see what was missing.

Smart Switch did all my apps, INCLUDING ones that are no longer available in the app store!
And once you log into your Google account, it should earmark anything SmartSwitch had missed for download.

I setup all new apps and settings as backups has old settings. Its second nature to me.
In a new device I want all apps fresh as device.

I also like to re-install apps from scratch on a new or replacement device. It, to me anyway, seems to improve stability and I like to do them in a particular based on criticality.
