have any of you noticed that the 120hz screen fades in and out. Don't laugh, but I am a pokemon go player. Kids got me playing and I am hooked. Ive noticed that when i first launch the game it looks fantastic! but after a few hours of on and off play at work. I noticed it fizzles out and looks actually worse than my S10+. If i actually exit the game and clear the memory then relaunch its back to its 120hz glory.

That's really odd. I haven't been playing many games on the S20 Ultra yet but I've been busy. I definitely have my hour long binge days (currently with Retro Bowl)- wondering what exactly you're seeing.

When you say "fizzles out" can you explain exactly what you're seeing? In what way does the S10+ look better? Can you try pinning Pokemon Go to RAM and seeing if that makes a difference?

And welcome to the Galaxy S20 Ultra forum!!! Happy to have some company :)

when i say worse, its the animations go from buttery smooth to jagged and during motion and if i try to scroll through the monsters its jaggy and the screen has a hard time keeping up. Ill try this pinning thing, never have done that so off to look it up.

I know I saw this somewhere, but be damned if I am not seeing the actual steps to do this. I found a ton of articles telling you it can be done, but none that just say *how* to do it, lol

is anyone having issues with the screen. when playing pokemon go, sometimes the screen is bright, fluid and buttery smooth. Other times it looks worse than my spare s7. Its just not consistent, even chrome browser looks awful computer to my co-workers 90hz phone. still having the issue, wipe the phone twice and has all updates :(

That definitely does not sound right. Do you have 120hz mode turned on? It defaults to 60 unless you toggle 120 on.

You can also try pinning pokemon to ram to see if that helps it...

can you explain pinning to Ram...or send me a link. i have checked that the phone is at 120hz with the 1080p resolution. One thing i did notice is that when the phone is plugged into the wall it runs fine at 120hz so i disabled every power saving feature i could find. I finally got my new case that is the windowed samsung version. another thing i discovered is that when it starts looking really bad. If i close the flap the screen will go off and then when i open the flap on the cover the phone comes back at 120hz.

If you hit the 'recent apps' button you will see all the apps running. Click the icon at top of the game )or whatever you want) and there should be an option to "Keep open for quick launching" which *might* help.

It could well be the app needing to be updated to fully take advantage of this phones display/driver etc.
