New Note 20 5G. When I'm using the phone and I get an answering machine message that I don't want to listen to I close the app, however the sound still plays. The same happens when I'm listening to a podcast and close the app. Unless I press the pause it still plays. How do I close either app?

how are you closing the app? by going back to the home screen? if you call someone and get an answering service, why not just hang up?

and to close your apps, the best way is to hit the "close all" button at the bottom of your screen.
If I'm listening to Podbean and press pause and then "Close All" the sound is gone. When I open the Podbean again I can see the last podcast I was listening to is still scrolling and the Play icon is active.

your response seems to suggest its specific to podbean, not the phone. the phone did its job in closing the app and removing from the background.
try a different podcast app to test if the same issue applies or ask the dev of the podbean for more info on how it works or read its instructions.
Thanks marctronixx,

ikerry? are you an old ifruit user and have moved over to android?

if so, take a look at the user guide to get comfy with the settings.

good info from ocnbrze as well.
Thanks marctronixx and ocnbrze. I'm reluctant to download and open a PDF from someone I don't know. I'm going to try another podcast app.
