"Charging Connected Device Via USB" Notification won't go away

I have tryet 3 cabels and 3 charger , same result , i is a software problem , ant cant get ridt of it.

Well you could try factory resetting your phone, and if that doesn't clear it, maybe try re-flashing the firmware? But ultimately, it may actually be a hardware problem that requires repair or replacement. Is it under warranty?

i can charge the phone when it is off or i reboot it .
I have this same problem with my Coolpad, the only way I found to fix it is to force stop android system, restart the phone and plug in the charger while it's restarting. It should charge after that but then when you take the charger out the notification will come back or it won't charge so you have to do the same thing again whenever you have to charge it.

Go into Developer Options (settings-->about phone-->software-->tap build number 5 times or until it shows 'you're a developer!'

Change USB mode from MTP to Charge Only. Seems it assumes you're trying to transfer media for some reason. To this day I will never understand why Google removed 'USB Mass Storage' as a feature. AT least if this happened it'd produce a easily understood menu with 'turn on USB Storage' and 'Charge Only' with actual on-screen buttons. No need to figure out how to enable dev options.

I have had the same on a Galaxy Note 9 ... And think I have figured out why ...
This is an Android OS Issue ... Not Hardware Related !!!
The Phone has been connected to an extrrnal device (game controller, Flash Drive, Android Auto, or similar) and part of that connection was to change the USB Connection Defaults to suit that device. Reconnect the device and see if you get different options.

1. "AndroidAuto" was what changed the settings for me ... after I re-connected to AndroidAuto, and changed the preferences about auto-start and auto-play-music etc, the error message/notification went away.
2. My Phone charged again when cable was connected and I tapped the Notification "Android System - Charging connected device via USB - Tap for other USB options" and chose "This Phone" ... You MUST connect Charging Cable first, to get option for "This Phone"
Hope that helps ...

I just resolved this problem early today.
1. Connect my phone to another phone via USB, and then my phone starts charging this attached phone.
2.Go back to the menu of "Use USB to:", and select "Charge this device". Once done, my phone stops charging the attached phone.
3. Connect my phone to adapter charger , and then my phone is charged without any notification from system.

Today it happened again. I try with the method posted in September, but it doesn't work.

So, I connect my phone to a type-c power adapter via a type-c to type-c cable, and then select "Charge this device" in the menu of "Use USB to:". Now there is no any notification from system when I charge my phone with any cable and any adapter.

It will definitely come again. This time I cleaned the phone's USB port very carefully and it was gone. So, I posted my solution before and they were able to fix the problem just because the USB was plugged and unplugged multiple times and the dirt was temporarily removed so I thought it was fixed but it wasn't.

I have no idea what "lottery" you're talking about other than some USB cables are for charging only and some are charging and data transfer... but that's been a thing for over a decade. I love being able to pop in the USB-C cable in either direction and it just works. USB-A, for example, has three ways: the first way is always wrong; the second way is almost always wrong, too; and the third, which is just the first way tried again, generally works. But wireless charging while I sleep is plenty of time to charge to 100%.

I'm talking about the many times I tried to charge anything over USB-C and either it shows it is charging but is slowly draining and I wake up to it showing 18%, unknown time remaining' when I had plugged it in the night before at 65%, or having to plug stuff in multiple times before it recognizes the cable, buying a few USB-C cables trying to troubleshoot the issue to no avail before giving up and using wireless charging.

I NEVER had any issues with Micro USB. I'm not stupid either. I know how to plug stuff in. But morons ruin it for all of us. There is often a little USB or arrow symbol on the Micro-USB end that is supposed to point up. I used to let people know on MacRumors ages ago that the little square on the old 30-pin cable was supposed to point up too, they never knew.

I have had more issues with USB-C that I gave up on it. I also hated keeping two different cables around because ain't no way I'm throwing away perfectly good tech to make everything USB-C especially when I've had nothing but trouble with it. It's a solution in search of a problem. Idiot proofing of the worst kind.

USB-C attempts:

1. Samsung Galaxy A01, A02s: plug it in, shows charging, but is actually draining on charger. Left overnight the phone is extremely low when you wake up, or is already dead. Only way to charge was to power the phone completely off and charge with it off. Not very convenient.

2. 2019 MacBook Pro 13" laptop: had to plug it in two or three times before it knew it was plugged in.

3. two ONN tablets. One only charges when off like #1, the other takes two or three attempts before making the 'charging' sound.

4. USB-C true wireless buds case. It never charged, and now is a paperweight in my drawer.

5. My Z Flip 4 and Android Auto. When it works, which is 10% of the time, it thinks there is no signal and nothing internet connected works. No phone calls, no Google Assistant, nothing. Plays MP3s fine that are stored though. But I can do that over bluetooth.

6. Galaxy Watch 6 Classic wireless charger dock. Cable has a USB-C end only, so I had to go out and purchase a dedicated brick for it since Samsung didn't bother putting one in with the watch and all my bricks are USB-A. Watch often has to be placed on the dock two or three times before showing it's charging. Seems to be a theme with USB-C, along with feeling loose. Micro USB has a satisfying click when you plug it in.

Worst part is NOBODY ASKED OR DEMANDED THIS. COMPANIES ARE SUPPOSED TO RESPOND TO CONSUMER DEMAND NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Anecdotes. Micro USB always worked for me. Why can't we have choices anymore instead of the 'illusion of choice'? Somehow USB-C didn't just become a way, it became the only way, no thanks to the E.U. who shouldn't even have any jurisdiction in the U.S.

Artificial scarcity sucks. We should also have WebOS and other OSs too. There is plenty of room for options, choices and competition, just as there was plenty of room for 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE as well as 5G and VoLTE. Let people have variety again!
