Hi,
I'm not super tech savvy, but I usually know enough for what I do on my tablet. After talking to numerous people, we've come to the conclusion that I need to perform a factory reset on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A. I've never done this on any device and I'm scared to. I DO have an SD card in my tablet and I have every picture on my tablet moved to the SD card and every file etc that's able to move, moved to my SD card. Can anyone tell me what to do next? I don't have any work stuff or anything crucial on here, I'd say my pics are the most important things to me, but they are on my SD card. Do I remove my SD card before doing a factory reset or leave it in? And after the reset, how do I access the stuff on my SD card? And help/advice would be super appreciated.

back up your card to your pc first before doing anything else.

next you can use this guide for the reset:

just keep in mind the first method will trip FRP (factory data reset protection) and you will need to have your google account info (email and password) handy.

one thing i would also recommend is that you use google photos....it automatically backs up your photos to the cloud without having to connect your device to anything. i never have to worry about my photos. i can take a photo on my phone and then open up my tablet or pc and view the photo i just took on my phone without having to connect to them.

I don't have a pc unfortunately. Will I lose my pics if I don't back them up to a pc? Also, do I take the sd card out of my tablet for the reset, or leave it in?

I used to use Google photos about 7 or 8 years ago, but then I got worried that other people with a Google acct could see them. There's nothing bad but I don't want every single pic I take to be out there for people to see. I can't remember why I was thinking others could see them, I'll have to go into Google photos and check and see why I thought that.

Remove the SD card before doing the reset. That way you know that it cannot delete images that are on it.

Do make sure that they really are on the card though: for historical reasons the path "/sdcard" does not point to the SD card but to the internal storage, which can cause confusion - you don't want to accidentally lose your photos because of something like that.
