ok so is there any way to back track my leaked 2.1 to 1.5 and then get the official or am i just screwed and cant get it at all now?

You are screwed and can't get it all now. Though if you have version 3 of the leak, you have the official already so no worries. No root for you though. Least not yet.

Maybe you could pm a mod, since your more of a senior member here. They've 'leaked' (wooh lame pun) into the root section too, even on xda which seems to have a higher percentage of members being technically inclined.. There's people going "OMG WTF, this rom wont install, im on leak 2.1".
