And here's my solution, though the same case is all over the internet with a broad spectrum of prices (they all probably come from the same production line in China):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/194367360623?var=494483600098

Got it today, tested it out, packed it up for return. It performed every test flawlessly EXCEPT the one test I really needed it to pass:

It will not charge wirelessly with the S Pen inserted into the pocket.

Apparently the phone stands off the charger (doesn't matter which) just enough to break the magnetic field. Back it goes,so I'll look at that Spigen.

just an fyi the Spigen Fit P with S-pen holder is back ordered until the end of Oct to the beginning of Nov......:(:(

edit: that is what i was thinking when i saw those types of cases.....thanx for confirming my suspicions.

I've seen other cases with the S Pen housed at the opening, not the hinge... and it interferes with the buttons and fingerprint scanner. The REAL solution is for Samsung to have a Note-style S Pen IN the phone!
that's probably either when the note and the fold will finally merged as was rumored early on for the z fold 3. or hopefully with the z fold 4.

i have seen youtube video where they take the s-pen holder from the flip case and glued it on similar to the Fit P and yes it is in the way, but accessing the buttons and fingerprint reader was not all bad as one would think. thinking about doing this to my case over the weekend.

well that car mount.....i think i'm done with it. the mechanism to open the grips are slow and sometimes does not open unless the car is running.

i just went to Best Buy and bought myself a really cool logitech bluetooth keyboard as well as the Iottie ITap Magnetic 2 as my car new car mount. it is magnetic so holding the phone or taking the phone out has never been easier for me now.

also i just got an alert that my new Spigen case with S-pen holder is out for delivery!!!! should be getting it with an hour or so.

Okay, since the "perfect" case isn't out there, I'll just have to design it myself! I'm a bit busy today, though, so I ordered the Spigen Thin Fit P. Let's hope it works well... if it ever gets here...
I got an email from them and they said it will be 30 days from the time you place the order. Just got an email saying that my case is out for delivery, should be here soon.

30 days from the date of the order? What are they doing, making one at a time to reduce inventory? Good grief!
yeah that is what they told me.....but i would look at amazon. right now it is still a pre-order, but they are saying oct 28th as the delivery date......and it is much cheaper at $44.99.

ok so here is my review of the Spigen Thin Fit P. it is a great case and can be expensive you buy directly from them or cheaper elsewhere like amazon. the s-pen holder works great. it is located on the side of the front screen which makes using the fingerprint reader a bit harder to use, but overall it works. my only gripe is that the hinge is not protected at all. the Spigen slim armor pro protects the hinge really well. the Spigen Thin Fit P with the pen holder off to the side also makes it a bit bulkier to hold compared to the slim armor pro.

so which one to get? that is up to you. both cases are really well made and will protect your very expensive phone.

Thank you for that great review and comparison! I really don't see myself taking my phone to the beach or into a region prone to sandstorms (nope, no more of that, thank you). While we don't sport the cleanest house on earth, I would hope the hinge is a little more resistant to dust than what's here.

The question, then is: are the disadvantages of the Spigen Thin Fit P as disadvantageous as the disadvantages of the Samsung Flip Case? If the Thin Fit P is at least a bit more tolerable - and usable, then I'll probably like it. The only thing I'll have to adapt to is storing it in my horizontal belt holster.

been using it for almost a week now and it 1000% percent better than the useless flip case. for one there is no flip cover. two the case feels really good in my hand. yes it is bigger and slightly awkward because the front is much wider than the back. it wirelessly charges well. and i feel secure about the phone being protected if i drop it. a kickstand would be nice to add.

i was going to use a magnetic car mount instead of the one i have, but you have to put the magnets inside and outside of the case. it was pretty bulky when you do that so that is going to be returned.

all in all i like the case very much. i am still going to try gluing the s-pen and its holder to the side of my slim armor pro and see how that works as well.

I guess if you want the Darth Vader of phones, that's your case LOL I'm very happy with the Spigen Thin Fit P. I unfold my phone, pop out the S Pen and people are like "wow, that's one of those folding things, right?"

My initial impulse is to reply, "why, whatever gave you that idea?" but I'm generally nice about it. They may end up buying this one as soon as I get the Z Fold 4 in August... which is now tipped to have an onboard S Pen!

its exactly what i need. i can be very rough with my phones. i use my phone a lot when i work and so i need something rugged. after my first z fold 3 went kaput, i really want to protect this one.

i think i will stick with the z fold 3 and most likely wait for the z fold 5......but who knows. i will definitely be keep an eye on what the 4 will offer.
