A few questions regarding Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Hi, i recently got s21 and i have a couple of questions(clarifications) regarding Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features.

1) Turn on Wi-Fi Automatically. This option will simply Turn ON Wi-Fi when Home or Work and OFF when not. And it's working as described. But it will not work if Wi-Fi scanning is Tuned OFF in "Improve Accuracy" setting. Now what's the point of this feature if Wi-Fi still working when you're else where?

2) Nearby Device Scanning in More connection settings. This is what's written in the Manual

"Easily set up connections to other available devices by turning on Nearby device
scanning. This feature sends you a notification when there are available devices to connect to"

I find this useful but it's not working. I've tried Bluetooth speaker/earbuds(non Samsung), laptop and it's not working.

If you turn off WiFi scanning, your phone has no means to find your router when you are at home or work. It has to be scanning to find available routers.

Nearby device scanning is used when you would like to share files between two devices. With scanning turned on you will be notified when another device is near. If a connection is established between two devices it is over BLE or bluetooth low energy and the devices must be fairly close to make a connection. I suggest you leave scanning off unless you are wanting to share something for it will cause some battery drain.

To connect to your headphones you will want to establish a bluetooth connection. If your headphones/speakers are BT compatible, there will be a setting to make them visible to your phone. Turning on the BT in your phone setting and then looking for available device to pair with you should see your headphones/speaker and accept them or pair them. After they are paired they will be remembered and the pairing procedure will not need to be repeated to stream to your equipment in the future.

Well, I've got the part with Auto Wi-Fi. It's OFF but not really OFF... it does not saves battery so it's a useless gimmicky feature.

And It's kinda misleading and deceptive advertisement because this is what official Samsung page says https://www.samsung.com/my/support/mobile-devices/what-is-the-turn-on-wi-fi-automatically-feature/

This feature remembers the wireless router you use frequently and turns Wi-Fi on automatically when you go near the wireless router.

"It functions even if the “Location option is off". However, if the device is in Flight mode or does not have a SIM card, it will not function"

Turning off location will disable Auto Wi-Fi. And it will say Turn on Wi-Fi Scanning (in Improve accuracy) settings to use this feature. If go to location setting there is no way to turn ON Wi-Fi Scanning without Turning ON location. More over this feature will not work without Google Location Accuracy. I tested yesterday.

Auto Wi-Fi was ON
Location was ON
Wi-Fi Scaning was ON ( in Improve accuracy)

So in theory it should turn off Wi-Fi ( kinda turn off but not really turn off) But my wi-fi was still on i was way out of reach of my home router. Then i turned Google location accuracy ON and it immediately turned OFF my Wi-Fi toggle( again gimmick turn off)

So it is a False advertisement.

But it doesn't work.

But it doesn't work.

Nearby device scanning simply doesn't work as you thought. Turning on your BT in your phone it will scan for nearby device it might connect to. Your earbuds then need to be placed in "discovery" mode. (varies from device to device with instructions by manufacturer) Your phone will then see said device and will show up as a device that can be paired. Clicking on that device name in the list of available devices will then typically pair that device so that audio can be streamed to them.
