Root [ROM] Cyanogenmod For Droid V5.0.7 (05/24/2010)

There is a newer LauncherPro in the market but I am getting "unsigned" errors when attempting installation. The newer version might let you change to dock shortcuts.

As for ADW, go to ADW settings, screen preferences, desktop screens. It does go up to 7 screens.

Ok, maybe I'm stupid. I installed ADW, but when I hit menu it gives the standard launcher options. I don't see ADW settings. It doesn't show up in the app drawer. Sooo...yeah, I'm dumb. lol

And although I wish ADW had the launchpad thing, I do prefer it to LauncherPro, as well.

Upgraded to 7.1 yesterday and while the phone is in the desk dock there are two problems thus far.

1) Cannot scroll through webpages, mail, etc. It lets you scroll down a bit, but then snaps back to the top a second later.

2) Dimmer light doesn't work. Dims after selecting the button, but comes back to normal brightness a few seconds after.

Here's the latest update. Since it's in system/apps/ it won't update, so you have to do it manually....I have to say, I love it!!

EDIT: Yes you can change the dock shortcuts

I still find ADW has more configuration options and is behaving quite well with 5.0.7.1. I like the ability to increase the amount of recently used programs that can be viewed, scrolling speed, just to name a couple strong points. The only thing that I miss is having 4 icons on the main dock (I also like ADW's hidden dock that holds 6 shortcuts). I was able to install LauncherPro right from the market after using Titanium to uninstall the older version.

I've been trying to apply themes to my Droid, mainly Smoked Glass and DroTheme but when I apply the theme, mostly everything goes right except the text colors are still black which makes things basically impossible to ready. Has anyone had this issue?
You have to use spareparts to change the text, clock and notification colors. After you make the changes you will have to reboot for them to take effect

Yeah I felt the same way about ADW, but I really like the smoothness of LauncherPro. I had the Eris before, and I liked the smoothness of Sense. I get that without all of the extra stuff.

Can someone provide an alternative link to Cyanogen 5.0.7.1, since the Forum is down. There's a few files that i wanted to borrow from it, not to make a ROM or anything, just my personal preference. I don't want to use ROM Manager because I don't want to download the whole thing and install it....

If you DL it via ROM Manager you "should" be able to pull the DLed ROM from the Clockwork DL folder on your SD.

im running rooted 2.1 because i was getting terrible battery on BB . . never tried CM on my phone yet . . should i try this one out ? im gettin bored too lol .

You really need to do a little experimenting with different kernels. I have been getting better than stock battery life with both 5.0.7 and B.B. Different phones yield different result so try different speeds, developers and voltages until you find your sweet spot.

I'm using a 5-slot bekit w/5.0.7.1...so it will work. Try re-flashing the kernel using ROM manager.

Kernels are very phone-specific, but I've always been able to use find Bekit and P3Droid kernels that worked for me.

I haven't been able to use a Bekit kernel on ANY of these next gen ROMs. My last successful time using it was on UD9.8 and I wasn't thrilled w/ it, but it did work.

Speaking of kernels, what's going on w/ Chevy's and AdamZ's? Hadn't heard from them in a while. Used to be those were the only two people would recommend, now they don't even get mentioned.
