I just noticed today that when I long press the home button, the screen flashes, I then tap the search box, then at the top of the screen, a see a search box, with a screen shot it just grabbed. Then if i say something it adds to it ,but only searches the image. I have the Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra with Android v15, and my wife has the Galaxy s22 plus and her search works as expected. What I expect is I long press the home button, I see a search box and I talk to do a google search. ... thoughts

It is called Gemini and Assisstant, oh you say flash for a second?
i cant say for the s22 ultra, but on my s25 ultra the circle or home button will do a search according to what is on your screen at the time you hit the button. you then select things on the screen you want it to search. you can also hit the google search button or microphone to talk to it and do a separate search.
so it sounds like you might have touched the screen on an image and it did a search on the image.
why not just add a google search widget to your homescreen instead?
Yes, I touch no where else on the screen except the Home button, then the screen has more of a wash of color. then I see a image in the search box

Ah could be flash notifications, I have it on my moto five, you can turn that off really easy, just search for notifications on the settings.
I was not talking about the FLASHING perse, but the fact that it adds a Screenshot to the search.

Try to space out,
and see what you really desire of such a program.
I want a long press of the home button to work as it use to. you long press, search box comes up, type texts or do a voice search and it searches for that. I do not want it to include a screenshot.
my wife, son and 2 friends have the same phone as me, and it does not do it on their devices. This is also happening on my Samsung Galaxy tab 8
and to add to all of this, I contacted Samsung support, they ended up having me clear storage and cache on Google and One UI. Which fixed it for about 20 minutes, and did a hard reset on my home screen, app tray and side bar. after about 20 minutes, I saw this message about circle to search, no option to not use it and now back to where I was , and now having to re-do all my icon layout, folders and sidebar.
