I have only a few questions
1. anyway or any fix to correct the battery drain? Is there a known issue?
2. can I delete city id, and peep, along with a few other factory installed programs
3. Is there an application that I can use to add separate notifications for different email accounts? I am in an on call situation and would like to have the emergency emails have a different ring tone. OR can I set the email address to use a different notification?

Other than that the phone is "incredible" - a little cheesy but it does everything it said it would.

I am currently running a Droid ERIS on leaked 2.1v3. I have loved this phone from day one (even with cupcake) without any major problems, however, I am up for an upgrade. The Incredible seems to be the obvious choice for me as of this point, but I don't want to jump on a phone at a contract extension price if there's something better coming out by August. Any suggestions or rumored phones are appreciated.

PROBLEM needing help with: I want to save my contacts to an SD Drive - don't see any menu option that allows me to do that. Also tried syncing to gmail and lost all the contacts loaded on my phone from my old phone -- was able to reload, but don't want to sync again for fear of same thing happening -- therefore, want to save them to SD Drive before syncing again. Do I understand correctly, if the contacts in the People file say Google, you won't lose them in the syncing process. As now they say Google, but I don't think they did before. I also would like to know, how to sync without getting all duplicates -- and without losing similar but not the same contacts - i.. one contact has their email address, and another one has their phone #. Or they have multiple email addresses, so don't want them overwritten. Appreciate the help. (still have contacts on my old HTC 6850 - which I could also save from to SD Drive, if I knew how to do it. I have a big problem with my samsung galaxy i7500.
I bought it last year (croatia) and since day one nothing but problems.
first of all NPS won't recognize my phone so the program is useless.I can't upgrade it either because it needs to be in sinc with NPS.battery life is morbidly short.bluetooth won't work.....
I'm a total noob,so please tell he how to fix all those bugs by upgrading or something.
I'm so frustrated,phone was expensive and yet it's like the model of a 3g phone.

Hello all my name is adam and I'm a droidaholic.

Guys I had a rooted droidmod phone that was amazing die on me and now I have a replacement with the update.

If I install droidmod the phone restarts when overrclocked and or if I have an mp4 on my sdcard and I enter the 2.1 gallery

Is this a known issue?
Can anyone suggest a rom that might work better for me?
(Id like wifi tether and overclock)

Noob here - My Eris will not rotate to landscape even though I have it set for automatic orientation. Makes it a PITA for email / text (especially with fat fingers). Any ideas? If I have to do a hard reset, what info will / will not be wiped out? How do I go about saving any data that might be lost in the process? Thx.

I was wondering if anyone has an idea on how to send calls on an Eris with using only the send button (mechanical button next to the ball). My wife keeps calling people on accident by hitting the button too many times. I haven't found an app that will do this on our phones (we have the same model). Something like on flip phones when you open the phone but it doesn't answer until you hit send.

My problem is that I've tried several Sterero Bluetooth headsets with my phone but they all produced a very annoying cracking sound at middle and high freqs. I looks like the phone is encoding the audio stream at a very poor quality. (this degradation can't be heard if I use a wired headphone)
The latest set I bought finally was a SE MW600. I tried it out with other phoned as well an it sounded great except on my phone.
Now the question is that can I tweak the A2DP setting on my phone the same way it can be done on windows mobile to improve A2DP quality or is there any other way to get around this issue.

my question-
seeing how this is my first "smart phone" i never had much of a data plan.. i believe i am setup for 5mb a month or something around there and i know that practiclly nothing.. but my question.. is there anyway to somehow turn the data off when im not using a wifi connection?? my concern is that it seems like when im not using a wifi connection my phone will automatically kick over to the data from my service.. to update emails and happenings and such.. i dont want this becuase im not going to update my plan to unlimited data until i upgrade my phone through at&t..

1st of all when I call someone there is a little vibration for no reason (I don't want like or need this feature)
2nd thing when I make a call the screen blacks out and I cannot find a solution for this. In my world I need to be able to use the screen to select options switch between calls mute the phone and un-mute I work for a living and (I don't want like or need this feature)
3rd thing is I use a blue tooth head set and for some reason my hero now when I answer a call and say "Hi" the other party barely hears me and then for just a second I hear them on the hand set not my head set but then it links up and we hear each other nicely. It appears to be some delay (more than with 1.x) (I don't want like or need this feature)

My HTC Legend craches and says Android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly, force close. There is nothing I can do about this and I have to reset to factory settings. This is very anoying as I loose all my settings, apps etc.
Is there anyway of solving this without having to reset the entire phone? I've tried to delete the app I blame for this problem but that did not help.

Now to the problem!!

To recieve my emails I use the googlemail app that came already installed on the phone but there seems to be a problem as when I try to refresh it to sync with googlemail for me to get my emails I keep getting this error message saying 'the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedley. Please try again' and then the only thing I can do is to force close it. So I assume its some sort of syncing problem. This problem happens when trying to sync both over wifi and the 3G network.

I've been having this problem since about 1800 last night and is a major problem for me as I receive 100+ emails a day. So I do hope someone can give me a quick solution.

I already have another question thread open but I just found out about this one.

1. When I place/take off my phone from the dock charger all of my apps from my homescreens disappear and only return when I shut the phone down and turn it back on. Why is this happening.
2. I've just recently decided to sync my Facebook account to my contacts. For some reason I only have pictures for a few people and emails for everyone else. I have everyone's names set up as they appear of their Facebook accounts. Does this just take a long time because I synced my phone a number of times and no progress has been made.
3. When I add a contact my phone asks me what account I want to add it to (Gmail and YouTube). Obviously I choose Gmail because I sync my contacts to Google Contacts and YouTube wouldn't make any sense. To add the contact I have to go to Google Contacts online and add it to my phone. The contact info I added on my phone is only online and not in my phone. Any suggestions?
4. Sometimes when I use the Google Search widget with the touchscreen widget the widget gets stuck at the top of my screen and I have to reboot my phone for it to move back to its regular place (it moves to the top of the screen so the keyboard can fit)

I haven't rooted my phone or done anything along those lines at all. None of this started until 2.1 came out.

I have just bought the phone, HTC DESIRE and have the following problem:

In summary, when I get a call or sms, and the number is already saved in my phonebook:

1. If the number is from abroad, there is no problem, it shows the saved contact name.

2. If the number is local, it only shows the name if the number was saved without the international calling code, ie if saved as 5987321xxx

3. If the number is local, it does not show the name if the number was saved with the international calling code, ie if saved as +44 5987321xxx

Please let me know if it can be solved and how.

Problem:

Had problems right from the beginning because my google calendar syncs to the phone and deletes everything off the one I view on my PC (work or home). Worked around this because I have a sky google calendar, so manually input everything in there and shared with my other google account. Google never responded, took months of googling for it and finally figuring out for myself what to do!
Then 2 weeks ago downloads from the market stopped working. This drove me mad as I have only had the phone since Jan this yr and I'm still exploring apps to find the right ones for me... so I googled for a fix and someone suggested clearing the caches. Did this, phone then asked me to log back in to my google account, but refuses to let me! If I try and log in, it says

'Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server - This could be a temp problem or your SIM may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care.'

What customer care?! I will try my carrier's customer line, but this is happening to lots of people on the android bug reporting site, with lots of different models. Some people suggest a factory reset but others say this doesnt help and I don't want to risk loosing all the info I already have stored on my phone. Some have talked about rooting, but I don't understand what that is or what the implications are or how to do it! I am so close to ditching the Eve, getting a basic phone and getting an ipod touch. At least they have a customer service line!

I really don't wanna bail until I've tried my hardest. So is there anyone out there that could shed some light on my situation? I am slightly techy, but not techy enough to understand what the problem is.

On the front screen, it "fights me." What I mean is, it scrolls all the way to the left so I can't do anything with my phone. When I try to scroll back to the right, it keeps fighting me and scrolling to the left. This only started happening after the Eris got the 2.1 update. I took it to Verizon and they reset my phone to its original settings (keeping the software update at 2.1 of course), but it's still acting funny.

Also, today, I was in my facebook app and I was trying to type something, but it kept exiting the keyboard screen.

New to rooting so please forgive my noobish questions. I have superuser permissions before installing Jrummy's Remix v0.8 onto my rooted 2.1 droid. After installing the rom, I can no longer see my superuser permission's. Is this normal? I also can no longer access apps I have for rooted user's only.

My second problem is before installing the above rom I tried to root the 2.2 froyo using the instructions for clockwork mod. The installation was aborted and it had something to do with apps2sd so I recovered my previous rom.

Questions:
-Is there a "primer" for rooting, kernals, etc? My Droid is unrooted running 2.1, considering rooting but my head starts swimming when I see discussion about it. Need a n00b simple understanding of how it all works and what I should look for. I tried Home++ and Helix Launcher earlier and didn't like either, both seemed plain and uninteresting. Maybe I'm just ******ed. I want something that's not NECESSARILY more glitzy/graphics intensive, but is DEFINITELY sleeker, faster, and gives me more control over my phone. If I can streamline the existing system, don't think I would want to overclock.

-App/OS for viewing more types of media files? MPEG4 only gets a bit boring...

-What apps/services/system processes that are running are CRITICAL for system stability and which ones can I stop to increase performance? I'm running ATK for that purpose but focus only on Apps that I chose to run/stop.

I have the HTC Android and all was going well until a couple days ago, when I got the notification "Low on space - Phone storage space is getting low"

I checked the phone storage, and I have plenty of storage, plenty of memory, and plenty of sd card storage space. I tried to clear the notification, but to no avail. I tried rebooting several times, and it still will not go away. Then I when I woke up this morning, I saw that I have another notification in addition to the first one.

"Not enough storage space for SMS.. Your phone's storage is almost full" Again, I checked my storage levels and they are all nearly empty.

What's the deal?
