[Battery] Statistics and Reports

I have all three. The TP2 is the same as the Ozone battery. We have standard a standard Ozone battery and TP2 version lying around too. Not to mention the phone itself. I should check the Imagio battery too and see what it has.

I'm not sure that measuring the battery sizes or weights gets us much. Kinda like measuring the length of a football field with a watch instead of a yard stick. I've bought lots of camcorder and camera batteries. Funny how they can be the same size but have vastly different performance. Not to dis the batteryboss review but the way he tests is with a continuous 1/4A drain. Possibly some batteries recover better on intermittant load. batteryboss definately tested them per spec at 1/4AH draw. You can see how they collapse at the end under that load instead of dropping off in a linear fashion.

I happen to have three of the batteries being discussed here - the stock Droid Incredible battery (1300 I think), the stock Touch Pro 2 battery (1500 I think), and the extended Seidio 1750.

I was completely dissatisfied with the stock DI battery, mostly because I couldn't get through a whole day of work after a full charge the night before. I work for the federal government inside of a very large brick building, so signal is pretty terrible, but I have to be able to be reached wherever I am (so I can't simply turn on airplane mode or something). Basically, whatever phone I use spends a LOT of time looking for and maintaining a very faint signal so that I can receive texts and (usually) enough of a connection to answer a call and let the other party know I'll call them back on a land line.

I'm not real comfortable testing my old, worn out TP2 battery (since I don't think it would be fair), and I don't have an interest in conducting any kind of rigid, objective tests anyway, but I can say definitively that I can get through a whole day on the Seidio (at least 10 hours). I could not do this with the stock. I realize that's not necessarily the most shocking news, if I have a chance I'll try to come up with some kind of fair way of comparing the TP2 and the Seidio in the Droid (since that would be more interesting).

BUT, on top of this, I was suffering from the 'phone refuses to sleep' issue that many now think is connected to the flickr sync. I did a factory reset and installed everything very carefully (and ditched flickr), and fixed that problem (so far, *fingers crossed*). But I'm not sure exactly when I did that - I think it was after putting in the Seidio, but I can't guarantee it.

Anyway, here are some quick photos in case they help anyone. The size difference between all of them is very small, and they all fit the DI just fine, and the TP2 is actually the thickest (see the last pic). They're just on ImageShack, don't know how long they'll last.

First battery was defective so I called Verizon and they sent me a replacement. My replacement battery would almost get me through my day with very light use. I decided after reading about the touch pro 2 battery to give one a try and got much better results. Now for the good stuff! I have runing some tests on the verizon battery and touch pro 2, so far I can tell you something is seriously wrong with these battery's! The replacement Verizon battery does not even put out 900mah with a 250mA load on my CBA II. I have not completely finished my tests but will post more soon.

Unlike the intelligent folks out there in the forum, I ordered the $6 version (free shipping) of the 1500 TP2 battery off ebay. I received it today, put it in and it really left a substantial opening in the case. I looked at the battery and thought I might be able to do something with the wrapper to make the battery fit better so I started to fool around with it. To my suprise, the black wrapper that said "FOR: HTC Touch Pro2, 1500 mAh" came off and underneath it was another black wrapper. The one stated "FOR: HTC Droid Eris 1500 mAh". I started to peel that wrapper to see if there was something else under it, but there wasn't. I was hoping to find a 1750 mAh but no luck.

The battery now fits fine with no openings around the case; it was charged to 83% and seems to be working fine. My question is: Is there any way to determine if this battery is a 1300 mAh or a 1500 mAh? The OEM battery for the Droid Eris was a 1300 mAh but extended 1500 mAh batteries were also available. The seller on Ebay has a high rating and guarantees the merchandise for 30 days. If it is a 1500 mAh I'm fine with this battery but I don't know how to determine it.

I see little to no followers or talk. Like I'm going to trust this one guy who is probably just bitter from a bad experience and wants to hose Seidio.

Hell he could be right, but if he was, I feel like he wouldn't be the only guy cryin the blues.

If it was really only 1400 mah as he claims, AF members would uproar and we would be hearing about it like crazy.

It's not going to be this massive "I only got ten hours on the stock but six days with the Seidio!" thing, but if you used to top out at ten hours you'll get about 13 or 14. That's a good hop!

Seriously, enough with the whole batteryboss already. I think every person who bought a Seidio reported improved battery life. Good enough for me. I'm going with the masses here over one unknown person.

Size wise, the Seidio is pretty much the same size as the 1300mAH HTC, with squared corners (HTC has rounded corners). If I place the batteries on the table they're the same thickness. Length and width cannot change due to the battery's compartment in the phone. However, the thickness to the HTC 1300mAH can be deceiving due to the metal backing it has. The Seidio has paper all around it, so I cannot see if it has the same metal framework.

I have a TP2 1500mAH battery on the way (it's in the mail), and my gf is getting one of these batteries. If the 1500mAH can get us through the day with MODERATE to HEAVY use it stays, and the Seidio goes back.

I read this also on the Seidio website that they use the highest quality cells made in Japan. You can definitely have a quality difference in the same size package. I am getting a full day 7am to 11pm with the stock battery most days, so if I could get an extra 3-4 hours from the Seidio for some extra insurance...I am fine with that.

I have been using the Seidio 1750mAh battery from the 3rd day since Droid Incredible release and am COMPLETELY satisfied with my purchase. It gets me well throughout the day with my usage (moderate). All of these people saying that Seidio sucks obviously have never used the 1750mAh with thise phone.

If you are satisfied with the battery, then who cares if its better than the 1500mAh battery?

Batteryboss, claims on this forum, whatever. We all know the 1750 Seidio improves the phone. It's not a matter of whether it does or not at this point. It's a matter of whether the Seidio 1750mAH does actually rate at/near 1750mAH, and does the HTC 1500mAH rate at/near 1500mAH.

If you paid $40-$50 for the Seidio, but its performance is almost (if not) identical to the HTC 1500mAH for $15, why spend the extra $35 on Seidio? I can't comment on what the concensus is between the Seidio 1750mAH and the HTC TP2 batteries I have, so I'm still using the TP2 battery and breaking it in before I make a decision on the batteries I have in my possession.

My 1300mAH would always crap out around 6pm before I had to charge it (even after 2 weeks of charging/breaking in). The Seidio got me to about 10-11pm. Now, I'm using the TP2 battery, but I need a few more days to average it out based on my daily usage.

Like I've said in other posts if the TP2 is equivalent to the 1750mAH, back the Seidio goes. Someone also mentioned that it's kind of odd that Batteryboss has the OEM batteries rating mostly above 90% of their claim, while all the 3rd parties are in the mid/low 80%. Even worse is the Seidio 1750 he had was performing at less than 80% of the claimed mAH.

FWIW, I've emailed Seidio regarding their position on what Batteryboss claims, but I haven't heard anything back. I will see how my batteries fair, and if my $15 TP2 battery gets me a nice 7am-11pm day back goes the Seidio. No sense in paying $50 for a 3rd party battery that performs similarly to a $15 OEM battery.

That's the whole point. I'll repeat. We know the Seidio offers us a realized improvement over the stock 1300mAH. It's whether or not the Seidio is worth the price compared to the OEM TP2 battery.

After a few days of testing, the 1750mah appears to work as advertised. I can go a few hours longer and not feel compelled to find a micro USB charging source at around 7pm.

One additional point to all this arguing. Those who claim it is impossible to fit additional MAH into the same space are ignoring HTC's own products. They produce both a 1300 MAH and 1500 MAH for the incredible Neither require a larger battery door so both presumably fit into the same space. There most be some differerence in chemisty or components which allow for this. Further, Seidio has been around for a long time, if they were blatently making false claims about thier products I think we would all know by now. With all that said, I would like to see an official comparison to put all these claims to rest once and for all.

I just ordered my Seidio 1750 and I am waiting for it to arrive. I am just wondering from people who have already bought and used this battery, is there any kind of info on the proper way to use it the first time? I know i used my stock battery right out of the gate instead of charging it all the way before my first use. I always wondered if the fact I did not do a full 8 hour charge before first use of stock battery might have added to my poor battery quality. Does this same principle apply to this battery or does it come fully charged? Or do you have to plug it in and charge for 8 hours before first use? Thanks

Follow the instructions... It's a LiIon battery so you don't really have to condition it unless you are paranoid.

Got mine yesterday, today has been a joy so far with the seidio

So it comes with instructions?? Thats what I was mostly wondering. I am paranoid now after how poor the stock battery treated me haha.. I can't wait to test out this battery and hopefully only have to charge me phone once a day.. ugh

Its worth the money if you need it. I hope they come out with a 3500 mah fit it, that rocked being able top do whatever all day and not worrying about finding a plug

to me the 1750 seidio seemed lighter weight than the oem 1300 battery. strange. I am still in the process of breaking in the seidio (3rd charge cycle) but am already noticing a big improvement over stock.

Just a thought, but when mine arrives this week I'll be doing the 8 hour charge overnight with the phone turned off. There is no doubt that the phone will not charge your battery to full capacity if it's on, so just something the think about the first time.
