How do emulators like Snesoid work on the Incredible with an all touch screen?

about as terribly as you'd expect on a touch screen. i wouldn't try anything but RPGs.

They're pretty sensitive - coupled with the fact the buttons and D-pad controls are small and compact - playing any game that requires twitch reflexes - I'd avoid since you'll probably mis click tons of times. It's really meant just for old RPGs.

This was true for me until the recent updates to the Snesoid line of emulators. I found platformers like Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World unplayable before the larger translucent controls were added. Granted you'll never achieve the same kind of precision as a controller, but they're definitely playable now considering I'm playing them on a touchscreen phone.

To the OP, just download the free light versions of Nesoid and Snesoid and give them a try. I also suggest Gameboid and Gensoid. They all have the large, translucent controls and about 90% of the games I tried worked with only minor hiccups.

They all actually work pretty well now that the author of snesoid, gameboid, etc, added the ability to make the controls larger and translucent.

im only playing pokemon with mine.. well was for about a week until i got bored of it again. but gameboid works pretty well for that.

I can say that SNESoid and GBA are two of my most-used apps on my HTC Incredible. I play a lot of RPGs though, like Chrono Cross, Secret of Mana, Mario RPG, etc.

Nah- a bunch of games are very playable, but stay away from games like Contra and fighters. Games styles that play great:

1. Any games that is just left to right movements (do not laugh, there are tons).
2. Pinball games
3. Puzzle games
4. Card games
5. Baseball games play better than expected
6. Pacman type games
7. Pang type games
8. Puzzle Bobble type games
9. Tetris games
10. A lot of shooters
11. Pool games

A few hundred games play fine on SNES and counting the other emu's over a thousand do. I am surprised how well a lot play now. PCE16 and the arcade emu's are NOT playable though, since no multi touch supported in those apps. Emails to the devs have been useless.

Racing games are hard like Mario Kart, but most other games play pretty good. I actually thought Sonic played pretty well.

I kinda disagree with your list of "good games for playing on android emulators" so I'll add my 2 cents:

1) Light-gun games (such as DUCK HUNT)
2) Classic RPGs (such as FINAL FANTASY, CHRONO TRIGGER, MARIO RPG)
3) Modern RPGs (such as POKEMON, GOLDEN SUN)
4) Anything else that's played really simply.

Only play platformers (MARIO, MEGA MAN, METROID, DONKEY KONG COUNTRY, SONIC) and action/adventure (ZELDA) titles if you have great controls (i.e. gamegripper, or just really good with the touchscreen controls). Otherwise they'll drive you insane.

Unfortunately (not so unfortunate really) I have the Incredible so I guess I'm SOL! I'm sure there will be a solution sooner then later. Waiting patiently........

How did you get past the desolate future area?? There's a spot where it tells you to push L+R and hit A to open a door, but the Inc can only register two button hits.

That's a touchy subject on forums because Roms are only legal if you own the original game.
With that said.
There is a link built into the emulator and you can find the bios with a simple Google search.

ahh ok i understand that. I have all my old stuff sitting in the garage. Didn't really think about it being legal or not though now that half of it is getting close to 20 years old lol
