Root Getting Official 1.6 Donut

So I guess 1.6 will be out officially from Samsung/Samstunk.
Samsung planning Android 1.6 update for Behold II -- but that's it -- Engadget

I wonder if it will still have TouchWiz? If so, I will just keep the Galaxy R12. But if I do decided to get it, would I go back to stock Behold 2 rom?

From what it sounds like it will still have touchwiz the real question though is will it be the 3.0 version? and if so will we like it? will touchwiz home be less laggy in transition?

I am surprised others dont care about this.

Why should we care about getting something we already have? Not to mention this is just an insult from Samsung a big F You to us they promised us 2.0 and as an offer if that can't be done due to some exclusivity crap they need to give us something better not something less. Behold 2 can support 2.1 and 2.1 probably could boost their sales in this crap especially being paired with this screen?

Besides, we should have gotten this months ago, if not out of the box.

well i gotten rid of the bh2, but i still come on here time to time just to check on those who can't jump ship yet :)

but i do recommend to all bh2 owners, please jump ship. do not keep a phone that will never be supported by the company that made it. they lied and really don't care what we do or say. all i can say is, we have to be reaaallly careful now when selecting a phone, i'm talking about doing hours of research and watching vids before be get a phone. even tho the software updates are unknown when buying a phone, companies like samsung spread videos and stuff saying we will get a update, makes you buy the phone because it looked good and was gonna be updated. then turn around and fnd out that it won't, and then realizing that you are now trapped in a contract due to those scumbags.

I'm fairly happy with the phone as is. An official 1.6 with the ability to replace touchwiz if desired would be fine with me. I really don't want 2.1. I would really like to get 2.2 though.

You can replace touchwiz at anytime. There are UI replacement apps on the market....... I am using GDE myself........with the eclair (new drawer) theme :)
