Starting to slow down

Yea mine has lag! No I don't have any 3rd party apps, yes I shut my phone off and restart it, yes I do battery pulls, yes I do *228, yes I'm a tech buff and have a slightly good idea how a device should work. Figured I'd cover all the questions from the people who feel like Jesus delivered there phone, and that act like u cursed there mother out when u say your incredible has an issue or 2....

Agree with you 100% on the last part of your quote ! You would think that this piece of plastic and metal was a damn family member or lover ! Sheesh.. Haven't even been around much anymore. So sick and tired of seeing all of the nasty and downright mean reply's to posts. No disrespect, but I think the mods need to drop the hammer in here alot more.

57 Apps installed on my Incredible (all quality apps, no fart apps, no shaking soda-cans etc..), with a boatload of resources to spare (memory, phone storage, and cpu usage). Just for giggles, I stress tested my Incredible by using a live wallpaper, made sure every app possible was loaded into memory and running, any app that had to poll for data was polling as often as possible, widgets set to refresh as often as possible, had friends flood me with sms/mms/IM's/email, and still my Incredible operated well. I did manage to push it to the point that there was some noticeable lag, but it was a lot of work to get it to that point, and I'd already surpassed the threshold of other device's capabilities by leaps and bounds.

Praise Jesus!

The only reason i see even a HINT of scroll lag on the programs list is because i'm running a live wallpaper.

The whole phone runs smooth as silk, no lag, no slowdowns anywhere.

Apps launch in under a second.

If i flick-scroll very fast on my homescreen programs list, i see the kinetic scrolling hesitate for a fraction of a second. If i go back to a static wallpaper, even that microsecond of lag vanishes. I can live with a miniscule scroll lag. I rarely go into the program list because i have shortcuts to almost all of the apps i use on my homescreens.

I rarely notice lag, unless I'm really pushing it it takes what I throw at it and doesn't even blink.

I've run Pandora/GPS Turn By Turn/ Gotten texts / Emails/ sports tap and craigslist notifications while downloading a song in the background and it just takes it like it's nothing.
Compared to my Eris which lagged just trying to make a phone call lol

I have noticed what the OP mentioned in regards to the messaging app. After you have thousands of messages it can take a minute to open or change screens in the messaging app. I have also noticed the black HTC screen leaving the messaging app.

I have recently used the "delete old messages" app to clean it up a bit and have noticed a reduction in the slowness.

i'm noticing mine is a little slower than it was. minor things but when choosing a contact to call or selecting the weather to update it, everything is getting as little slower. day one it was lightning. It maybe because we have more stuff loaded and it's not that bad but definitely slower than day one

Was the lag on your device always there or is this change recent?

Since you're a tech buff, what slightly good ideas do you have for why an unaltered and properly maintained unit would begin to exhibit performance issues?

Anyone else starting to see slow down on their Incredible? Not just a little but the loading circle showing up when opening apps or closing them. Sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds for them to just start.

I have also had the HTC logo show up when closing stuff (black screen and grey HTC logo) and then the circle. Just checking.

Had a few Sense UI crashes, a few times a phone restart clearing things up, but other than that no, never once seen a loading circle. And just to clarify, I have 126 apps on here so I'm definitely putting it to work.

Certain apps / live wallpapers will demolish your cpu/ram though, I've definitely noticed that specific ones will slow the phone down but that can't exactly be blamed on the phone. Heck, anyone could write a program wrong just wait for them to update it if you can figure out what app is doing it.

All in all though it is definitely still as fast as the day I got it. If I'm ever in the mood to crank it up I just switch to a regular wallpaper instead of live, but normally it's still quick with live wallpapers/google maps/pandora/etc running simultaneously.
