I have the paid version of Slideit and everytime I type something when the text field opens the LED trackball glows and is so annoying that I won't use slideit. Is there a way to turn off the led notification everytime i go to type something and is this even normal?

Just installed swype and it works great.

It sort of sounds like thats the "Breathing Light"

that only blinks when the phone is doing something, normally, like when its finished installing an app or the like

and if it IS the breathing light, unfortunately, no there is no way to turn it off. Well no way i know of, you can change the colour with cyanogenmod, but there is no OFF setting i have seen

I'm using ShapeWriter and while it's taken a few days to get used to, it works very well and has increased my typing speed dramatically. Plus it's free.

Did you ever try Swype or Slideit or is there a better one. Never heard of Shaperider.

I've just looked and apparently ShapeWriter was removed from the market as the company was bought out.
