Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

Once you get the notification, how do you keep yourself from checking the status every 5 minutes?
I am finding myself going back to FedEx.com every 5-10 minutes to see if anything changed.
This will get to be very annoying if I have to do it for 4 more days. Have to call VZW to change to overnight (will probably cut a whole one day!)

EDIT: It worked, the status changed on my last refresh. now lets see, refresh rate of every 10 minutes X 4 days = 6*24*4= 576 more times to refresh. Might need a new computer by the time I get my phone :p

Ordered: 5/19 over the phone through their "loyalty program" for our business account.

Latest claim from the rep: Delivered by 6/9

I've heard nothing, received no email updates and have been told a million different stories about changing the shipping to overnight shipping. I even emailed our business account rep and he basically ignored my question. I don't expect them to tell me when it will ship I just want to make sure when it does ship it is overnight shipping.

Because it's a phone order I can't check the status of my order online anywhere. Blergh.

Call customer service with your order number and explain to them. Demand an expidited order. You should not have to wait another 3 weeks! Threaten to drop service and tell them you will not pay any cancellation fees! Stand strong and firm! It's not your fault verizon messed up! Your phone should be the next one they ship out!

:( I didn't get an order number, because it was over the phone. She said she would email me right away with all that info . . .

Stupid, I know. But the problem now is that the Verizon "System" doesn't even see my order existed. The guy in the store had to go into the warehouse system to even find a record of my phantom order.

I ordered over the phone, and was given an order number at the end of the call. Sounds like the order was never even placed. I would call and raise ALOT of hell..

See that is my problem in all this. I was in a hurry and couldn't hear her very well. She didn't give it to me, and I failed to ask . . .

I sent an email to customer service so we'll see how they respond . . .

Hah! I didn't get any notification via email but the "LOCATION_9DIGITORDER#" trick at https://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking worked!

Ordered: 5/19 in the morning over the phone
Promised: Shipped by 6/9
Actual Ship date: Jun 4, 2010
Estimated delivery: Jun 8, 2010 by 7:00 PM

What exactly are we putting in the "LOCATION_9DIGITORDER# for is it the account # or reference # cause I am confused on how to use that site..Yes I know something quite simple and I cant figure it out..Im sorry. It also seems I only have a 6 digit order # and a 7 digit Order Location #.??

Ordered 5/17, on truck for delivery today.

Can anybody tell me how refusing delivery works? Will Verizon charge a restocking fee? Will they just automatically refund my money when they receive it back?

I ordered a second Inc from Amazon. It was $66 cheaper when taking tax into acct.

...and got the wrong one for my wife. They told me to refuse the shipment (actually the DI was backordered so it was only two LG EnVs for my wife and daughter) but tried to charge me a restocking fee even though I never got the box open. I had to demand to speak to a supervisor who "as a courtesy" voided the restocking fee, mostly because I never opened the boxes.

Of course, this was a new account (I was moving from AT&T) and I was ready to cancel everything if they tried to charge me.

Give them HELL Nick! Be relentless. Get a supervisor involved! Be the biggest pain you can. Keep calling and take notes on everything said. Get names of everyone you talk to and ask for an incident number. They owe you big time! One other thing is always get reference #, order #, confirmation #, or receipt when ever you order anything no matter where you buy it. BTW, did you check your credit card to see if you were charged?

https://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking

Leave the account number empty

In the Reference number box enter #######_$$$$$$$$$ where ####### is your 7 digit location code and $$$$$$$$$ is your order number. If your order number is less than 9 digits enter leading 0's. For example if your order number is 123456 you would enter "000123456"

Leave the ship date alone

Enter your country/zip code

This will not give you any data until the phone ships

Oh man, I'm so in line with Scanner218 again! (You, my friend, are like my brother by another mother....)

Nick, see the thread I started titled, "Compensation for Backorder Wait" - you need to get paid, my friend.

I plan to be a PITA! :D

And there was no credit card charge until yesterday (when I ordered again, online) I don't feel that's right, but :sigh: that's another issue . . .
