His website seems to have a lot of downtime. I'm not sure what is going on with it, but I can almost never find his server.

The app is the best though. I could ask for a better home replacement app.

Not sure if you're trying to access his site through your phone or via computer, but I have yet to be able to get it through the browser on my Droid, but every time I've tried on my laptop, it works perfectly. YMMV.

I've experienced issues as well trying to access his site via mobile. I didn't know if it was a fluke or the site. It seems to be working for me now though, both wifi and 3G.

ive been using helix launcher forever now and im just wondering if i should make the switch to launcherpro? i see overwhelmingly that most people would say i should... so i guess i'll give it a shot?

question is - should i uninstall helixlauncher all together? or can i have multiple launchers on my phone? whats my best option here..

You can have as many alternative home launchers as you wand

Install Home Switcher to easily swtich from the various launchers. I'll definitely say go for LauncherPro, it has blown HelixLauncher out of the water! I used HelixLauncher2 and felt it lags more and not as smooth as LauncherPro. The only launcher that I think competes with LauncherPro is ADW Launcher, which have very similar features. Best feature on LP is that you can have FIVE rows of apps

And the developer is actively updating it to make it better!

great! i'll have to try it. but im not too sure how much space i have on my phone now so i may HAVE to uninstall helixlauncher just to get launcherpro to fit (im not aware of how much space a launcher uses)

well if you don't remove it all together, don't forget to remove widgets and such off of the Helix launcher before hand otherwise you are going to slow things down a lot

Home replacements don't take up much of your memory: LauncherPro is about 2MB, ADW is 1.35MB and Helix is 0.9MB.

So I don't see the point of uninstalling it unless you don't want it anymore.

I am loving LauncherPro! I was the guy how only liked a stock Motorola Droid home screen, but LauncherPro has changed everything! It is super quick and I love having the extra screen real estate for my apps and widgets. I think the developer has done a great job, and I am looking forward to more improvements in the future.

With the speed of his latest updates I miss some of the stuff he's added. Brilliant home replacer really. You can just about make it look however you want. The way he has you choose your icons and apps is brilliant. You can even add those homescreen dots in any place you like. Speed and behavior customizations, it's an insanely flexible launcher while still staying speedy...alot of progress since last month!

Where are you seeing the settings for this? I've looked through every preference setting and must've missed it.

It is an option for the docked icons that used to not be customizeable. Long press on one of them & choose homescreens.

You can change the dock bar at the bottom, just long press the icon on the dock bar you want to change and a menu come up and you can choose whatever app you want.

Correction - it shows a bunch of shortcuts, but if you select the applications shortcut, then wait a few seconds (up to 30 the first time I tried it) then it lists all of your applications that you can pick from.

Unfortunately, there is no LP icon for Google Voice that matches the clear icons for hte other stuff, so I reverted all of mine to their default icons.

I use the following setup in the dock:

phone - Gmail - (app drawer) - Messaging - Google Voice

Those are the things that I use the most.

This poll should be closed because, at this point, it is not even debatable which homescreen replacement is the best. With the latest update, it now has the most stable 3D app drawer EVER. It's ridiculously fast. This, along with all the other features, places this launcher waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay above and beyond AWD/Helix.

I have to agree. I love it. He says there may be bugs with it, but the only thing I found, so far, is that when you reach the top or the bottom of your tray while "flicking", it will stick for a second and then realign itself. Besides that nitpick, awesome all around!

I have to disagree with this statement. A 3D app drawer is not pointless at all. It is simply one more thing that make your phone that much cooler than all the other non-Android phones out there. You do have the option to turn off the 3D app drawer. Just like basically everything else with the Android system, it's all about customization and user preference.

You may think that the 3D app drawer is pointless, but to me, it gives me one more reason to brag to all of my friends and coworkers who are iPhone junkies and fanboys. This is one more think that I can show them and say "Can your phone do this?" and have them say "No" in a disappointed tone of voice.

Now, as for the app, This app is by far the best Launcher on (and not on) the market! I tried HelixLauncher 2 and the 3D app drawer on that was so slow that I almost fell into hibernation just waiting for it to open. Trying to scroll that 3D app drawer was even worse. It would scroll one or two lines and then just stop. Ten seconds later, I would be able to scroll it another row or two before it stopped and froze again.

I have never said this about an app before, but I really hope this Dev either puts up a donate button or charges a reasonable price for his Launcher. This is the fist app that I have ever WANTED to just give the Dev money for (and that includes all of the app I have on my iTouch as well).
