It's not rough around the edges - it is a pure dump of the ROM from the Nexus 1 ported over to the DROID.

This is not a ROM that was created from the AOSP like others (CM, Pete's) but literally a port from another phone.

As such, it is going to have growing pains. if you're not comfortable with them, yeah, sticking with what you had is probably good.

Think of this as bleeding edge stuff.

Nobody makes me bleed my own blood.

well maybe that was a bad term, not expecting out of box perfect, but want something that will work, and work well, and not have reboots etc.

might give it a try not sure yet. I have noticed that the current NExtBeast tends to eat a bit more battery then before..

IF I set it up and ran it overnight before reboot would be okay?

noticed a random reboot with my current V1.1 from Fab.. never had that before

Don't see that causing any issues... I actually got it up and running, had some issues then flashed back to my JRummy's remix for a bit... Decided to give it another try and it has been running slick ever since...

I was up and running with NexFro and seemingly happy when I used Rom Manager to boot into recovery for the purposes of installing the new baseband. Well I never made it to that point as I'm stuck at the Motorola circle. I've removed the battery and have restarted both with power/x and just normal turning on. Finally booted up so I tried again. Same issue though again after removing the battery and waiting for 4 or 5 minutes it boots up but I can't boot into Clockwork recovery. I used Rom manager and flashed alternate recovery (SPR) and that worked and is allowing me to install the new baseband. Should I just reflash back to Clockwork once I'm back up? Other ideas?

Have you tried the trick where you use ROM Manager to flash SPRecovery and then flash Clockwork Recovery right after? That has always worked for me.

If that doesn't work, do the same, but reboot between the two flashes (normal reboot, not into recovery).

I've gotten into the state after flashing a ROM where I get stuck at the moto logo, the process above has always fixed it for me.

Finally, if you have a corrupt SPRecovery or Clockwork recovery, you can also try clearing your download cache in ROM Manager, and flashing the recovery again - that will force a fresh download of the recovery image...
