Ran the new rom last night and my wifi did work but every time I would run sites with flash content the browser would close and restart. Is this a known issue? I'm using the 1.2ghz kernel and dont know if that could be the problem but thats a real bummer. Mototorch not working either seems like a dumb reason to be in absolute love with this rom but it is a big con.

Overall FAB nice build. You continue to do amazing things. Keep it up! Your making my DROID fun and my wife hate me :)

Up to Google now, to allow the default FRF57 ID see our paid apps. Until then, we're gonna need to hack the build.prop to trick the market.

I wonder...is MotoTorch doing some sort of check? Like comparing the claimed device ID vs. the real one, and freaking out? Though I can't imagine why it would need to do that...

Also, those who need the default android fonts...

NexFro101DF.zip

Please report back results, ty :D

The tradeoff off of using the just in time (JIT) compiler is extra memory usage. Still, I haven't experienced any slowdowns, and if my memory is being used efficiently, then I don't mind if there's only 30mb free, so long as all my apps run fine.

The only time I've had the homescreen redraw on me is after some intensive flash sessions in the browser. And even then, it redraws faster than 2.1 :D

Go direct to 1.01 but make sure you wipe first.

also, this may be obvious, if you're going to use titanium backup don't restore your system data.

Thanks for this - gonna check out the new kernels now.

be careful with these. i know many, including myself, that have reported that upon reboot the phone shows an empty charge (no battery life) and reboots. good luck.

Hey guys,

Is anyone having problems with Tempmonitor on this rom? It says it can't see the CPU temp due to it not being Tasmanian_Droids Kernel? Never had that problem with BBv1.1. I did a quick search and didnt net any solutions.

Thanks,

Dave

no problems here. sorry, mate. did you change any settings? maybe list some of your settings and we'll see if somebody can help you out.

best,
rf

Yeah i haven't noticed any actual slowdown just task manager was bothering me more often so i had to mess with more settings in that.

I can't offer any wisdom about why TempMonitor isn't working for CPU temp or whether that's a common problem on this ROM, but I did have this same problem a while back with a kernel by Adrenalyne on the Chaos team and ended up installing a free app from the Market called SystemPanel, which has a lot of very useful information, including real-time CPU temp. Since then, I've switched back to kernels that do support TempMonitor, but I never reinstalled TempMonitor, because I got the same info (plus a lot more) from SystemPanel.

EDIT: I just saw Fab's post above about the kernels for 2.2 not having implemented CPU temp support for TempMonitor. Since I haven't yet taken the 2.2 plunge, someone else will need to verify if SystemPanel can pick up CPU temp on 2.2.

So i got NexFro running great last night. I got everything the way i wanteds it. Then this morning i OC'd it (1.2 kernel) and it worked for about 30 minutes so i started trying to mess with it on SetCPU and my phone Boot Looped. It is still doing it. any ideas? Maybe a different kernel?

Yeah, you should load up a lower one, as you phone isn't stable at 1.2. If you don't have any on your SD card, you can still mount it in recovery. Then, just flash the .zip from recovery and you should be able to boot up again just fine.

Alright so I flashed a few mins ago to NexFro 1.0.1 from the previous version <nonFRF57> and all seems well! I did wipe data/factory reset/cache. Wi-Fi, Chrome to Phone, and Market all work no problems. No MotoTorch but agreed Tesla will do for now. Fab thank you for all of your time n hard work. You help to make the Droid Does statement true! I really think you should add a Donate button somewhere, I'd love to contribute!

edit: Flash also works Flawlessly! Thanks again Fab!

Well I guess I won't be trying it out. When I said my market was stuck on installing an app still is. Went to get Tesla anyways and the same thing, it downloads and then keeps saying "installing" but never finishes

I had an issue like that recently in BB 1.x - it would continue to show as installing ni Market, but in the notification it said complete, and sure enough, the app was actually already installed....

I've been using the first 1.2 GHz LV kernel that they put out since I found out about it - no issues at all.

Thanks for the warning, though. I'll keep it in mind as I flash the new 1.2LV.

Alright, did some more WIFI testing with public hotspots in my building.. I can see the networks fine. The problem arises when I try to connect to one - when I do, one of two things happens: (1) the network will say "not in range" and do nothing or (2) the network will say "remembered" and do nothing. I thought it may have something to do with low signal strengths of these networks, but it seems to be the case even for strong signal networks.

While I don't use Wifi often (3G is awesome, reception wise, where I am), it'd be nice to have this feature work should I need to use it..

I plan to test it against my home network tonight, but given the issues so far, it doesn't look promising.

I find that sometimes if Facebook isn't syncing my contacts, I go to the settings, select sync off, go to my news feed. Then back into settings, sync all (or existing) and magically, it starts to sync. Didn't have to do this in 2.2 though...

Thanks for the update. Just in case, try a couple of reboots before you get home tonight. Somehow, my wifi started working again after I left my phone on the charger overnight.

I'm glad TeslaLED was discovered, it'll help hold me over till the MotoTorch issue gets fixed. It was the only issue I've had w/ this ROM, which still today is running beautifully. The speed, the fluidity, everything is just beautiful. And when Pete comes out w/ BBeast 2.2 (or whatever) and Fab optimizes that, wow, can you imagine?

Same here...I'm using the 800MHz kernel that Fab included in the update.zip, and wireless connects quickly (faster than in 2.1) and is very fast...

Those having problems w/wireless - are you all running 1.01 with the stock kernel?

I flash the update.zip (1.01) with the stock kernel. (At least I think...I don't change anything with the download, and don't flash any kernels afterward) When I reboot, I go to Settings>Wifi & Networks (or whatever_>WiFi Settings>Turn on WiFi. Then I select my wireless network, and hit connect in the box that pops up. I live nowhere near anybody else, so my network is unsecured. Anyway, as soon as I hit connect, the status under the "Turn On/Off WiFi" area changes to "Scanning..." and never changes...I don't know what I am doing wrong, because I have flashed it 3 times. Should I re-download?
