*** Official Motorola Droid X Pre-Release Thread***

Yes - absolutely you can. However, I think for best integration of all of Google's "services" (including Google Voice, etc) you should use a regular gmail account when you set up your phone. Then add your Google Apps account as a second email/calendar account.

Wow. Really? Would it "push" e-mails immediately as a secondary e-mail?

I was wondering if anyone new if you could pre-order if you are paying full price? Also do you think they will keep the prices about the same as a Droid Incredible or Droid at full price? I know nothing has been said, just wondering your opinions.

I really don't see it being over $600 full retail since there's only been 1 phone to hit that mark so far (Pre Plus), but it all depends on what they work out with Motorola for pricing..

I hope this is what happens, if it is 600 or under than I will be happy. If not than I will take my money from my Incredible then just throw in a few bucks with it. My brother-in-law just got the EVO and he keeps bragging about it. I like it but cant wait to get mine to compare both phones.

So, based on the specs, or rumored specs of the Motorola X, would this be better than the Evo 4g when it comes to overall performance and speed? Is the processor on the Droid X as good as the one on the Evo? I was going to pull the trigger on the Evo 4G, but if the X is as powerful and speedy then ill rather invest in Verizons service. Anyone know how the performance would compare?

To the people put off by the lack of front-facing camera, you're better off waiting a bit to get a phone with one.

I follow new tech pretty closely, especially cellphones, and have been waiting for the perfect handset to switch me from Blackberry to Android. I fully believe the X is that handset. Specs, screen, build quality, materials and design, it appeals to me on every level. Point is, it's taken a long time to get a phone of this caliber. The Incredible was close but funky rear design and cheap plastic materials ruined it for me.

Front-facing cameras are a new thing, and I can fully understand the appeal of something new. I think you'll be better off to wait for someone to "get it right" than to jump on the first phone with it. Plus, how many people are you going to know right now that you can video chat with? Give it a year and it'll be as common as a rear camera and carriers and software designers will know how to better utilize it.

OMG! This is the "mobile handset equivalent" to Photoshop guy,..

"This is a photoshop, I can tell by the pixels and having seen many photoshops in my time."

Is there any word on the max SD card size yet, or did I miss it? I'm crossing my fingers for at least 32gb since that would allow me to leave my zune at home when I travel this summer. :)
I think I read 32GB capability somewhere and it would be massively stupid for Moto to not support that size. That's the new standard for microSD support.

I just read on android central that the DRoid X was pictured on an airplane. I am in lectures right now, so I'll update later.... In the meantime, head on there and check it out. It looks really long!!
Also head on over to droid life for leaked commercial scripts for the phone. I'll update first post asap, please bear with me.... This phone sur knows how to leak!

I just did a cardboard mock up of the size (just a hair over 5" x 2.5" and yes I stole the idea from another poster) and I think people are grossly over estimating how big this phone will be. It is only about .5" taller than my Storm2 and easily fits in my pocket with no effort at all.

Just my .02 on the matter but it was one more think that is making this phone a definite buy for me.

I've been saying the same thing ever since I saw the dimensions (except that I have a Storm 1).

Oh, and the screen is almost a full inch larger than the Storm :D
