Root 6-14 [ROM] Froyo Kangerade V1.0 *Blazing fast, 7 Theme options, many extras*

Anyone running this ROM looking for a performance boost?

This ROM was running sluggish yesterday compared to BB V0.1 and I was seeing Quadrant scores about 100 points lower than with BB. So I changed the SetCPU settings to what Pete usually sets them at and BANG! Instantly my benchmarking improved back to what they had been (last test was 1531 with P3Droid's 1.1GHz kernel). You can visibly see the FPS count during the benchmark increase and become less sporadic.

Real world...there is less lag when using LauncherPro (which is why I started tweaking things in the first place).

Here are the settings:

Code:
Sampling Rate: 32000
Up Threshold: 50
Ignore Nice Load (0 false/1 true): 0
Powersave Bias (0-1000): 0

Make sure to check the "Set on Boot" box at the bottom of the advanced settings dialog box. ;)

It only happens with Froyo. Eliot knows about it, but I have no idea what the issue is. Still, it looks really nice! Good job :D

Two questions as I download this ROM for flashing:

1) Why does it say *need to update* beside the themed Launcher Pro links? Should I hold off on updating to Launcher Pro until an updated link comes, or is that just re-stating what I'm supposed to be doing for all the themed launcher links (i.e. apply .zip as an update)?

2) For the update files for notifications with and without clock, what exactly is changing by applying the update? I'm assuming the latter removes the clock from the notification bar, but what else is affected?

I was happy with BBv0.1 until tonight when I realized that my wi-fi was suddenly not working (had been fine for a couple days). Guess I just need to accept that I'm a ROM nomad. ;)

I have the green theme installed and love it except for the green text that appears in the notification dropdown. Since it appears on a gray gradient, it is very hard to read. Is there anything I can do to change the font color on the notification shade?

If I flashed the update for the green notification without clock, but now want to switch to the white notification without clock, is there anything special I need to do? It appears that reflashing for the white made no difference.

And finally, how do I use the musicmod? It doesn't appear to be listed as one of the scripts in the list on OP. I tried typing:
su
musicmod
in my terminal app, but the command wasn't recognized.

+1

Flashed the pink notification with clock for the wifey. Clock looks great but is difficult to read. I think if we had white text for the notifications on the pull down, it would solve that (don't know if that is hard to make happen or not )

Just tried reinstalling the stock theme ROM directly from ROM Manager, choosing the option to wipe data and cache. The News and Weather app still isn't connecting (but I think this is an issue with the app itself since i tried a different ROM and got the same problem).

But what really bothers me is the camera app still isn't working. I open it, hear the noise of the camera activating, but it just shows a black screen in the viewfinder (as if I have my finger over the camera). If I try taking a picture, its all black.

Does anyone else have this problem too?

UPDATE: Just tried NexFro and have the same camera issue. time to load up a backup and see if its a hardware issue.

I am not having this problem with any of the 2.2 ROMs I've tried, although I'm experiencing a case of deja vu regarding the symptoms. I recall having a camera problem under 2.0.1 stock which turned out to be due to a bad install of one of the barcode scanner apps. I was getting a black screen even in normal camera mode. No promises, but if you have any 3rd party apps that use the camera, perhaps you should try uninstalling them to see if it makes a difference?
