The Apple Fanboy Ceiling

Status
Not open for further replies.
It's so frustrating. It's not the iPhone I dislike, it's the hordes of brainwashed zombies who parrot the marketing of Mr. Jobs, and muddy the whole issue.

I want Android to do well, but it's such a struggle dealing with the Fanboy variable.
Every camp has fanboys (Android included). You just have to learn to ignore them unless you enjoy frustration.

For your other story, Macs are stereotypically used by designers because they like the simplicity of the OS, they are perfectly used for design and creation because they are probably over secure about their computer and they don't want to deal with viruses and keyloggers. But that's just a 2nd opinion.

Please don't spout this nonsense to people who know better. OSX is one of the least secure OSes currently in use.

The reason Mac OS is so secure is because nobody uses it compared to Windows. The difference between Apple and Microsoft is that Microsoft acknowledges their security vulnerabilities and patches them almost immediately. Apple doesn't issue a single statement about them, publicly ignores them, and quietly adds the fix to their latest patch. Trust me, there are plenty of security vulnerabilities with Macs. The thing is that hackers don't care about them since the average hacker nowadays lives in Russia or China and does it to sell credit card numbers, SSNs, etc. on the black market. Basically, there is a market with Windows.

For me

I think it's funny how you guys make fun of apple and the iPhone yet you are acting the same way. Open your eyes they both are great phones, if someone says the iPhone is better fine. When you say android is better fine. I have android 2.1 and I like ios better. I find it very funny that this is an android forum and I always see posts about the iPhone. You guys must really need an ego boost.

If you aren't smart enough to understand the differences between both phones you shouldn't be using a smart phone

Most of the iPhone posts here are started by trolls. Most.

And yeah, iPhone is great, if you need a controlled locked down one button one task(unless stevie says its ok) interface. iPhone is great, for those who don't understand computing technology or don't understand smartphones.

Think of it like this..

Dumb phone = elementary
Feature phone = jr high
iPhone = high school
Android = college + career

Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.

I have a friend that brought a Mac after endless problems with PC's, (Mainly due to the questionable sites he used to visit), After which he brought a Iphone 3GS, his girlfriend then followed suite, and has repeatedly tried to convert me from my Nokia N96 (Which in fairness has been faultless) ever since. I saw the HTC desire and fell in love with it, (hope it arrives today) I think that there is something ever so chavvy about the IPhone, And Apple as a company before you get me started on its products.

I will be the only android user in my office and tbh I pride myself on being different.

Nokia makes solid phones no doubt. I wish they'd make some CDMA stuff.

...iPhone is great, for those who don't understand computing technology or don't understand smartphones....
And for those that do understand computing technology, and do understand smartphones, and for who the iPhone is the preferred choice.

The idea that ALL professionals need the few functions that the Android OS has that aren't available to iOS is just so closed minded and naive.

Fact is in my previous job I used my phone considerably more than I do now, and I'd choose the iOS over Android now, as having tried it, it really doesn't offer enough over the iOS, whereas iOS/iPhone does have features I'd like to use that are just better than Android(IMO). I'm using Android now basically for 2reasons; price and some specific functionality that I believed would be better on an Android phone than iPhone, given the same choice again, only price is still an issue.

LOL. If you prefer iOs sooo much. Why exactly sir, are you here? Other than arguing moot and often invalid points on a variety of topics. And what, shall I ask, are these specific uses that Android can not accomplish?

...What features, is what I was getting at...
No1 it syncs perfectly with my iTunes, and as a media player does a better job than my Hero; maybe newer Android handsets will be better than the Hero, but why should I take the risk, and subject myself to the effort to make something work, that should just work anyway?

...Did you say something about comprehension issues?...
Yes, because you were asking;

Implying that I'd suggested there things that Android couldn't accomplish that I had a problem with, when that is not what I said, and frankly I'm sick of arguing with you over points I haven't made. It strikes me time and time again that you're more interested in looking like you have the upper hand, than actually sticking to relevant arguments.

Perhaps you should read this:

Wow, pretty simple. Really. And yeah, Android should really sync with iTunes out of the box because everything needs to sync with iTunes! Or are you talking media player? Because YOUR personal preference doesn't make anything a fact. :rolleyes:

You specifically said:

I simply asked WHAT FEATURES? Your media syncing, out the window. There are quite a few other sync options that work quite well also.

EDIT: And I'll ask again MPW, if you don't like Android, don't care about updates phones etc, don't care about it at all, WHY are YOU here? Other than trying to argue baseless rhetoric and start conflict?

Perhaps you should read this:...
Okay, read it(well started to, but frankly it just isn't relevant), still doesn't mean Android syncs with iTunes though.

This is how it works IOWA:
Person A identifies something they want to do
Person B provides a solution
not;
Person A identifies something they want to do
Person B suggests not doing the something Person A wants to do, and doing something different instead (which I'm not even sure would work with some of the older purchased iTMS content anyway)

'Wow, pretty simple. Really'

...Android should really sync with iTunes out of the box because everything needs to sync with iTunes!...
I think you're wrong, not everything needs to sync with iTunes, it would be nice if it it did though.

...Because YOUR personal preference doesn't make anything a fact...
WTF are you talking about IOWA?? Again making out like you're countering something I've said, when I've said no such thing.

...I simply asked WHAT FEATURES? Your media syncing, out the window. There are quite a few other sync options that work quite well also...
Why is my preference of wanting to use iTunes 'out the window'? Would it be because I'm right, and it destroys your argument against me IOWA??

There could be a thousand media syncing option for Android, but unless they sync with iTunes better than iOS and the iPhone, what I've said remains true.

Your preference may differ, and I wouldn't attack you for it, so please don't say I'm wrong for wanting something different to you.

but you wrote

We want total access to the phone at least to the same extent that Windows gives us to our pc's. It is a pocket computer that will replace the laptop. We don't want someone telling us "no, sorry. You can't have any apps that compete with ours. We have our email app so you can't have Touchdown for better Exchange support. You can't have Flash because that competes with our platform." I mean, it's just a very offensive attitude.

So now your implying your preference is better than everyone else's? And because you can't figure out how to use anything other than iTunes Android is somehow flawed? Oh brother. Just because you prefer iTunes as your primary media app, doesn't make it a flaw in the Android OS what so ever, and that's quite frankly your problem. And you were listing it as an OS flaw, don't try to say otherwise, chief.

So, if you hate/dislike Android(for any reason), for the 3rd Time, WHY ARE YOU HERE? ( I think your just here to start conflict, and if you don't address this question instead of continuously side stepping it, you agree.)

And yeah, Android does sync with iTunes. There's several apps to do it. Guess you didn't even bother looking.

Stop contradicting yourself.
