Slingplayer Mobile for Android Out NOW!

I was all psyched for this, until I realized you have to have the latest Slingbox. It says if you have an older Slingbox you will have limited functionality? WTF does that mean, I can only get channels 1-32, 50 -65...
Can you elaborate? Is this indeed the case? I was planning on buying this app, as I have a Slingbox Solo. I went to their site, but didn't see anything regarding required minimum level of Slingbox...

I don't know what the "limited functionality" is in the android app, but when they came out with Slingplayer 2.0 for the PC they said the same thing. If I remember, the only thing I was missing while using my old box was something like sending stats to slingbox's servers to "improve my experience"..... It was never any kind of functionality loss.

I have SlingBox Classic and it worked beautifully yesterday. I streamed a couple of movies while working. Today, I am getting "connection failed" errors about 90 seconds in. The first 90 seconds are great. Not sure what the problem is. I haven't changed anything. hope this isn't the "not supported" they are talking about. Anyone else having connection failed errors?

The app is working again. It's awesome!

I purchased the Slingplayer App to my Motorola Droid running JRummy’s Remix v0.7 Cyanmod 5.0.6.2 Build ESE81 Firmware Version 2.1-update 1 (rooted). After the install was complete I clicked on the slingplayer icon in my app drawer and the screen goes black for a quick second, then returns to the home page. Can anyone help me??? (BTW Installed the app on my wifes Droid ‘Bone stock 2.1-update 1, and it works GREAT!) If anyone can help me out or give me some ideas I’d appreciate it. I know there are people running Slingplayer on Rooted droids, and I would have to have to unroot my phone, but I gotta have Slingplayer so I can watch my proHD.
I uninstalled Slingplayer app. Rebooted phone, and reinstalled the app. I still can't get it to work at all (icon clicked, phone flashes for a second and then goes back to home screen). I initiated a text chat with Sling Media and was informed that they aren’t supporting rooted phone.

Question?

Soon I am going to buy a new phone. I want to use the slingbox. I understand that there is a new app to use "slingmedia" on the EVO 4g and Driod X. However I am hoping to use the slingbox technology on the phone to hook up to another TV when traveling. However I have read that the HDMI port on the EVO 4g won't support this.

I have not heard anything in regard to wheter or not the Droid X will perform this feature.

Will the EVO 4g or Droid X allow you to watch streaming interent video or a "slingbox" on an HD TV?

I have read that if you "jail break" an iphone, it will perform this task. But I really would prefer to buy the EVO or Droid because it has other features I like better than the iphone.

I love NFL football. But sometimes when I am away on Sundays I miss my favorite games. I want to use the HTC phone/sling box to hook into another TV so I don't have to watch the game on a small screen.

Please help.:)

I hook up my Sirius Sat radio to one of the inputs on my DVR and BAM! Howard Stern streaming live with full pause, rewnd, ffwrd! Take that Sirius App!
Hey yf19 - I'm interested in doing this as well, it never occured to me! Can you change the Sirius channels by doing this? I can probably hook it up to my Fios box.
Actually - I wonder if you can hook up the Sirius receiver to the Slingbox directly with the remote functioning?
