    Root can i root my evo?

    So I got my evo a few weeks ago and have been reading about rooting since then. I followed the rooting guide but nothing happens. When i try to go into recovery my phone displays an exclamation mark which i assume is an error sign. Any tips? Is my phone even rootable? How do i tell? Thanks.

    New to android.

    Hey everyone, I am getting my first android phone this week (EVO) and am really looking forward to getting my hands on it. One question I have for now is if it is worth it to root my new phone? The free wifi hotspot sounds cool but is there any other reason I should consider tethering? Thanks :)
