Dropped the phone in loo yesterday! Turned off, dismantled, buried in rice, in airtight container in airing cupboard overnight.
Now it partially works. Apart from back/menu keys. And there is no service. Why would that be?
Should I dry it out some more? Wait and hope? Is there something...
I'm trying to reuse a previous Samsung phone on my PC (Ace is currently drying out in airing cupboard!) and I'm getting the 'Insert disc into drive X' message. I know there's a setting to change to fix this - I just can't remember what/where it is. Can anyone remember and let me know?!
I want to dispense with using the clunky Kies. But if I just connect my phone to the PC and try to access the drive I get the message 'Please insert a disk into Drive G'. What's going on and how do I fix it?
Thanks.
Anyone else recently lost their Hotmail mobile alerts? Mine used to work fine until quite recently but now have suddenly stopped coming through for some reason. I haven't changed anything as far as I know.
Still getting actual Hotmails to phone OK, just not the mobile alerts I've set up for...
How do you save messages? I've done it at least once before successfully, but now can't remember how!
I know how you get to saved messages - via Messages/Settings/ Manage SIM card messages. But can't remember how to get them there in the first place!
Thanks, JC
When I use Kies to backup my phone, it only offers me Contacts and Bookmarks to backup. Is that right? I would expect to be able to backup whatever I like, including photos, music, texts etc.
Thanks,

I've got the mp3 file on my Galaxy Ace that I want as my ringtone. And I believe I've set it as the Ringtone in Settings. But it doesn't play with incoming calls. What's going on and how do I fix it?
Also, what is the difference between Phone Ringtone and Default Ringtone?
Please don't tell...
I've still got the annoying little red triangle at the bottom left hand corner of the idle screen. Any ideas anyone?
What is it? How do I get rid of it?
Pressing it does nothing.
It's only on the front panel of the idle screen/homescreen, not on the application panels.
Thanks.
May be a stoooopid question ... but ... how do you get Galaxy Ace to play music from an album/folder continuously, i.e. play all tracks, not just one and then stop?
Somehow I accidentally removed the Contacts icon from the bottom row (is there a glossary term for that) of the Idle Screen. Now I can't get it back there. It's on the front/first panel/screen/page of the Idle Screen, but above the bottom row. On the bottom row there are now only 3 icons...
