I'm trying to root this HTC One X for someone. It's on baseband 3.18. The hboot is version 2.14. I'm using Windows 8.1. I was trying to use the EZToolkit to do this. But my computer doesn't seem to recognize my phone in fastboot. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers at least 20...
Hi guys I'm new to the S4, but not new to rooting. I'm on MF3, unfortunately my S4 came with that update already installed. And it seems MF3 is a pain in the butt. I've successfully installed safestrap and TWRP (2.3.6 I believe). And Xposed framework. Pretty sure that doesn't matter. I've...
Can someone point me in the direction of the stock recovery? I have to unroot this HTC One X for my brother and can't seem to find either. Also is there a way to remove the TAMPERED from the bootloader and the red text from the bootscreen? I know how to do it on the Evo LTE, but I doubt the...
I'm looking for an app that will backup my apps like Titanium and ROM Toolbox do. But after that make those backups into a flashable zip. Is this possible?
And to the moderators: I couldn't think of where to post this. If it's improperly placed feel free to move.
Thanks, folks!
My parents recently updated from their Evos to the Galaxy Nexus. I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP. SOOOO much easier than my Evo LTE was. I have a few (possibly silly) questions:
1. What is a good stable solid ROM? My mom hates when anything at all goes wrong and it scares the heck...
Hey everybody, I'm not new to rooting or AF, but am completely freshman when it comes to Galaxy Nexus. My parents are upgrading soon and getting the Nexus per my suggestion. It was this or GSII. First off, do you guys think the Galaxy Nexus beats the GSII?
Rooting it seems simple enough for me...
I'm on MeanROM right now. Pressing between back and home turns volume down. Between home and recent apps turns volume down. This is neat, but I don't really have a use for this feature. Would it be possible to change one or both of those to something else? Maybe make one search and another...
This isn't mine, but I thought those of you who didn't like Sense might want to know about this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832162
I haave yet to try it, but it appears to remove Sense and some bloatware. Along with some other nifty stuff.
I'm working on rooting a Motorola Xoom I recently purchased from eBay. I have the tools and whatnot needed but I can't get into fastboot. I've read online to do so you have to rapidly press volume down while it's booting up. This just takes me into safe mode. Can I disable safe mode so I can get...
My dad bought this terrible tablet, the Pandigital Nova. He hates it because it's so slow and clunky. I even had to root it just to get the Play Store on it. And I've finally convinced him to get rid of it.
But this is where I need some help. I'm not very smart about tablets so I was wondering...
I got LTEvo 3 unlocked and rooted. But I lost all of my apps when LTEvo 2 died. But I have nandroids on my SD card. Could I get the apps out of a TWRP nandroid?
And not related to above, but can you downgrade your bootloader?
I have an Evo I need to take in to Sprint for servicing. But I gotta get it unrooted and get S-on. I bought it rooted so I'm unsure of the method used to originally root it.
Can anybody help me out with a RUU or helpful advice?
EDIT: Oops, I didn't know somebody had recently posed this same...
I had an LTEvo and data quit working so Sprint was nice enough to replace it. But this new LTEvo is 32% slower and downloads are 64% slower. I've tried everything to try to fix this new phone. Sprint tried remote repartitioning (whatever that is) and that was supposed to fix it for sure. But...
As some of you know I recently replaced my LTEvo with another LTEvo. I'm currently using the same setup as I was on my old one. But it's going a fraction of speed of my previous LTEvo. Both are/were rooted, s-off and unlocked. Using MeanROM OC'd. The picture attached demonstrates this best. The...
I flashed the new firmware/radios so I could flash MeanROM 1.5. Everything went fine up to and including the flashing of the ROM. I ran fine for a day or so until I tried to update the PRL and profile. PRL updated fine. But when I went to update profile it said vDM Client force closed. And...
Whoa if you're a rookie, then this is the tool for you!
[TOOL] HTC Evo 4G LTE All-In-One Toolkit V1.0 [6-24-12] [PERM ROOT][Noob-Proof] - xda-developers
The title says "NOOB-PROOF" and from the looks of it, I'd say that's pretty accurate.
Take a chance with dsixda's kitchen and attempt to make my own ROM? I know it's not true development, but more like ROM editing. But as some of you may have noticed, I learn by trial and error a lot. Are any of my errors in the kitchen going to leave me with a brick?
I don't know why but I'm getting ads in my notifications bar. And as if that weren't annoying enough now something is putting icons on my home screen. I can't find any apps that shouldn't be there. Did I get a virus maybe?
I'm working on my brother's Evo. He has HBOOT 2.18.0001 so I unlocked the bootload using the HTC Dev method, successfully. When I put Amon Ra on the SD card, I renamed it PC36IMG.zip (windows is not hiding file extensions). When I hold vol down + power it boots into bootloader, recognizes that...
Will this work with our LTEvo? If you're unfamiliar with it it allows for dual booting. More than dual really. You can load multiple ROMs and all you need to do to switch between them is restart your phone.
